Police Report Fertilizer Plant Explosion in Waco, Texas
Injuries reported
Authorities in Texas reported a large explosion on Wednesday at a fertilizer plant in the town of West, near Waco, and local media said that there were a number of injuries reported.
The blast, reported shortly before 8 p.m. CDT (0100 GMT on Thursday), was confirmed to Reuters by Waco police dispatch operators, who could not immediately confirm reports of damage or injuries.
The Waco Tribune newspaper, in an online account, quoted an emergency dispatcher calling for multiple ambulances and saying, "we have a lot of injured here."

I wonder what it feels like to know that the country giving a damn about your death hinges on whether the explosion was an accident or intentional. Extra prayers for those who die in ways that don’t feed the public’s demand for sensationalism.

As soon as I heard this story, I immediately thought of the contrast between it and Boston.
Will they cancel some professional sporting events in TX today? #WacoStrong
Damn.
That fertilizer plant’s supposed to be like 20 miles from Waco.
Are we really going to play connect the dots every time a disaster strikes? Ay yai yai.
