Timeless Quotations from Margaret Thatcher

As all the world knows, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher has died. I mourn the passing of one of the more formidable fighters against the destructive policies embodied in socialism and communism. I only got to see Thatcher speak once, at the celebration of Ronald Reagan's 83rd birthday at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. in 1994. Flawed as all politicians are flawed, they are nevertheless both true heroes in the victory over the great evil of communism. In appreciation, I include a selection of Thatcher quotations below:
There can be no liberty unless there is economic liberty.
There is no such thing as society: there are individual men and women, and there are families.
To cure the British disease with socialism was like trying to cure leukaemia with leeches.
To me, consensus seems to be the process of abandoning all beliefs, principles, values and policies. So it is something in which no one believes and to which no one objects.
Nothing is more obstinate than a fashionable consensus.
There are still people in my party who believe in consensus politics. I regard them as Quislings, as traitors… I mean it.
If my critics saw me walking over the Thames they would say it was because I couldn't swim.
It can be truly said of Thatcher that the world will not see her like again. RIP.

If you want to enrage a modern so-con, quote this one.
Unfortunately, if you want to enrage a majority of people in all political groups, quote this one.
It's a dumb quote.
Zombie Thatcher -- 2016
One of the best things about her and Reagan was that they both pissed off prog-tards like nobody else could. How do you know you're winning an argument with a proggie? When they start foaming at the mouth with rage.
It can be truly said of Thatcher that the world will not see her like again.
I assume you've checked your crystal ball? The world will not see her again, she's dead. To predict that there will never be another person like her ever is pretty dumb.
$: Perhaps I am being too pessimistic.
My personal favorite is still "Don't go all wobbly on me George!"
Who knew that she could see the current O! plus GOP leadership dynamic, so far in advance:
To me, consensus seems to be the process of abandoning all beliefs, principles, values and policies. So it is something in which no one believes and to which no one objects.
"The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money."
"No one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions; he had money as well."
I was going to point out the first quote, but you beat me to it. That's the most famous one. Evidently she did not say those words exactly. From http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/thatcher.asp she said "Socialist governments traditionally do make a finanical mess. They always ru out of other people's money.".
Strange that reason should miss the most famous one. Is sequestration hurting them?!
I know a proggie...she foams at the mouth when I mention Thatcher. Her complaints are all vague and nebulous, but she is sure Thatcher was an awful, evil woman.
If only Britain had stayed the Labor/Miner's Union course, I'm sure it would have been Utopia by now.
There is no such thing as society: there are individual men and women, and there are families.
If there are only individuals then the family is an illusion too. If the family is a thing, then a society is a thing as well.
In my experience "consensus" is the process of waiting until the moment when nobody who actually disagrees with you is paying attention, and then holding a vote and declaring yourself the winner.
At least that's how I've seen it work in practice. Argue about stuff online. Then get together for a meeting, and in the 15 minutes before everyone has shown up, hold a vote amoung the five people who don't give a shit and will go along with whatever you propose.
Leets roll it up one time dude.
