The results of the recent election proved that the immigration debate is over in California. Even some Republicans are joining with Democrats to promote the "path to citizenship" for people here illegally—after decades of taking a hard stance.
But as Steven Greenhut observes, the debate continues at the national level. What can the GOP do to avoid further alienating what has become an essential part of the Democratic constitutency?
