God must be straddling the afterlife's joists.

  2. heller   12 years ago

This material is offensive and arousing.

  3. invisible furry hand   12 years ago

Good grief, even the alt-text on Bok sucks

  4. db   12 years ago

God learns the hard way not to go blindly reaching under the bed for the cat.

  5. sage   12 years ago

    HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAhAAHAHAHAAAHAHAHA!

  6. Xenocles   12 years ago

So what's the point of the cartoon besides "Benedict (or is it Joseph?) isn't Pope any more?" Was it the intention to affirm the doctrine of papal infallibility? God can't take back something that wasn't there.

    1. Just Counterfly   12 years ago

It's a post-modernist deconstruction of the inherent proto-paternalistic prejudice of the NCAA basketball tournament. It's quite funny if you know where to look.

      1. Almanian!   12 years ago

I find your ideas intriguing, and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

    2. RBS   12 years ago

      Vorshtein?

  7. Longtorso   12 years ago

My exit interview at my last job went the same way.

    And Bok sucks.

    1. Almanian!   12 years ago

They made you give up your infallabilty? No wonder you left...

      1. Longtorso   12 years ago

I will always be infallible. And Suki will always be dead.

  8. Suthenboy   12 years ago

They give you a hard time around here Bok for their own amusement. Dont listen to them. When you are finished putting labels on this one I will be able to figure out what it is all about and I am sure it is hilarious.

  9. Just Counterfly   12 years ago

So the pope has a yamulka on under the popehat?

    Also LOL at Liefeld shoes.

    1. Xenocles   12 years ago

Re. the hat: Yes, and I think that's true for all bishops.

      1. Just Counterfly   12 years ago

Not the Bishops from Aliens or the X-men.

  10. JeremyR   12 years ago

It's not like this is new though. There was that whole French pope thing, and there have been dozens of antipopes

  11. Drake   12 years ago

Ramirez does it so much better.

    http://townhall.com/political-...../26/107422

    1. gaijin   12 years ago

Ramirez was an effete snob! He died on his knees.

      1. Drake   12 years ago

        Then I raped his woman!

        1. heller   12 years ago

Actually I took his head and raped his woman before his blood was even cold.

          1. Just Counterfly   12 years ago

He never said what the ambient temperature was, because that could be impressive or meh.

Also, if he meant that he finished before his blood was cold it's kind of a backhanded boast.

  12. Almanian!   12 years ago

    No, fuck you, cut spending.

    1. Cdr Lytton   12 years ago

      Also, fried communion wafers.

      1. LTC(ret) John   12 years ago

Really?! I might have to mull over converting.

  13. heller   12 years ago

Anybody else partying it up tonight for the sequestration?

  14. heller   12 years ago

Oh Dennis, what won't you say/do???

Ending his unexpected round of basketball diplomacy in North Korea on Friday, ex-NBA star Dennis Rodman called leader Kim Jong Un an "awesome guy" and said his father and grandfather were "great leaders."

    http://abcnews.go.com/Internat.....s-18616468

    1. Just Counterfly   12 years ago

In his defense, he probably thought he was in Shogunate Japan, and was waiting for JCVD to come out and axe-kick someone.

      1. Proprietist   12 years ago

In his defense, if he told Kim Jong Un he was a dick and his dad and grampa were evil mass murderers, he might have missed his return flight.

  15. Cdr Lytton   12 years ago

Another brilliant Bok creation. The speech bubble is coming out of where the chest would be.

"Hey Bok, My mouth is up HERE!"

  16. heller   12 years ago

EU about to fine Microsoft billions for making users take two minutes to download non-IE web browsers.

    http://www.theinquirer.net/inq.....t-explorer

In other news, the EU wonders why its economy is so bad.

    1. $park?   12 years ago

      But MONOPOLIEEZZZZ!!!!!

Scientists make brakethrough towards Borg-like hive-mind. Obama administration watching closely.

  19. General Butt Naked   12 years ago

    Jesus.

Bok, every week I expect that you won't be able to suck any harder and that you've hit an ultimate low. But, the very next week you shatter those expectations with a whole new level of suckitude.

    Congratulations, I guess.

    1. LTC(ret) John   12 years ago

You just have to set your expectations for Bok, higher...er, lower. Eventually he will pen something so unfunny it will collapse H&R into a black hole, where no humor can escape the event horizon.

      1. Just Counterfly   12 years ago

Well technically humor could escape, very slowly in infinitessimally small packets over billions of eons via a mechanism I call Bekenstein Hawking Fry Counterfly radiation.

        1. General Butt Naked   12 years ago

The question is, does a bokhole decrease the system's entropy?

    2. $park?   12 years ago

Would you rather he wrote the funniest joke ever?

      1. General Butt Naked   12 years ago

I'd rather he just wrote a joke, period.

  20. SugarFree   12 years ago

    DAY ONE WITHOUT A POPE

    1. General Butt Naked   12 years ago

I blame the obstructionist, racist GOP, personally.

    2. AlmightyJB   12 years ago

No pope. Goverment forced to accept a draconion 1.5% less increase then it originally wanted. ThTs what I call a Good Friday. After that DHS video earlier this week I should be riding high into the weekend. I should just quit now and not check the internet news sites or watch tv ever again

  21. Rich   12 years ago

I'm glad Chip explained that God takes back the infallibility. I had been expecting a *real* crisis for the Catholics if the two Popes disagreed on anything.

    1. LTC(ret) John   12 years ago

Dueling Popes (played to 'Dueling Banjos')?

  22. John Galt   12 years ago

Hmm.. I was actually expecting a happy birthday sequestration cartoon. Oh well, hallelujah.

    1. heller   12 years ago

You could have a baby new year/father time thing going except that the sequestration is a malnourished African baby while the deficit is an extremely obese man.

      1. John Galt   12 years ago

That's an easy picture to visualize.

        1. heller   12 years ago

Yes, now all we need are the labels. MOAR LABELZ.

          1. General Butt Naked   12 years ago

            comment^

          2. John Galt   12 years ago

            Hurr durrr

  23. Concerned Citizen   12 years ago

Not sure about the Pope resigning. Can't imagine Jesus, on the cross, deciding to resign. I'll pray for another great Pope, if not another John Paul II.

    1. General Butt Naked   12 years ago

I think they should make Obama the new pope. He's already got a nobel peace prize, so there's that.

      1. AlmightyJB   12 years ago

Here's what sad. Would you be surprise if that happened.

  24. jangtrang   12 years ago

Wow, talking about a pompous windbag? Amazing.

    http://www.Get-Privacy.tk

  25. sarcasmic   12 years ago

Finally, a cartoon with an alt-text.

    1. Ted S.   12 years ago

xkcd has been doing that for years.

      1. General Butt Naked   12 years ago

They should just link to a random xkcd comic on friday mornings, instead of putting money in the pockets of Big-Bok.

      2. sarcasmic   12 years ago

Within five minutes of the Singularity appearing, somebody will suggest defragging it.

  26. Mango Punch   12 years ago

Wait, without labels I have no idea who anyone in this cartoon is!!!!

    1. John Galt   12 years ago

The dude on the left appears to be Boris Karloff.

  27. Silly ol' Bear   12 years ago

No wonder Mohammad was so pissed...all he got were rags, sandals, and a turban!

    1. $park?   12 years ago

Yeah, well, he never got stapled to a cross.

      1. John Galt   12 years ago

The Pope was stapled to a cross? ...maybe he did earn the right to wear those gaudy Judy Garland slippers after all.

    2. Rich   12 years ago

What were his wives, chopped liver?

      1. Proprietist   12 years ago

Five or six year olds, apparently.

  28. General Butt Naked   12 years ago

How the pope got his hat...

    true story.

    1. John Galt   12 years ago

Those actors will burn in Hell for the sin of the worst fake Italian accents ever.

  29. Proprietist   12 years ago

I had this argument with my uber-Catholic mom yesterday. If popes are infallible, how can the Church ever change, retract or contradict a past action or opinion? The original pope's decree was wrong and he was obviously fallible, meaning the declaration "popes are infallible" is falsifiable.

    1. lap83   12 years ago

I'm guessing you didn't change her mind about being uber-Catholic.

I think, for Catholics, it's a loyalty thing. Protestants aren't like that and they'll regularly change churches or give up religion altogether over the smallest things. (I come from a protestant background and my aunt once changed churches because she thought their choice of musical instruments were too secular) Catholics will still call themselves Catholic even when they become a hitman for the mob or the pope kisses the Koran. Most are not terribly concerned with consistency.

      1. lap83   12 years ago

        *was becoming too secular
