Even More Quantitative Easing, Stevens Warned of Benghazi Radicals in 2008, States Challenge Feds Over Recreational Pot: P.M. Links
-
The Federal Reserve has announced a round of open-ended quantitative easing, which won't conclude until we all shape up and start prospering. The OECD says that's no time soon.
- President Obama finds himself in the hot seat over the deadly embassy attacks, largely because of the failure of intelligence and security efforts — including a 2008 warning from Chris Stevens, his own self, that Benghazi was becoming crazy central.
- The feds may not be ready to sign on to medical marijuana, but some states are getting ready to let people toke the stuff up just for fun.
- Three Republican electors are openly discussing flipping the bird to their party's candidate and voting for Ron Paul instead.
- The government may cut off the flow of subsidies to the wind power industry and start sending cash to New England fishermen instead.
- New York City has officially imposed its much-discussed ban on big sodas. It's a good thing we'd never think of buying two smaller ones.
- It turns out that striking Chicago teachers are really bent out of shape over charter schools — which makes sense, considering how much better students at those schools are performing.

…which won’t conclude until we all shape up and start prospering.
The economy and everyone in it is a racist.
Can someone find me a bacon number of 5?
http://blogs.indiewire.com/tho…..rch-engine
I think to get to five you have to use a foreigh actor who has never worked with an English speaking actor.
I don’t need it. Just one degree for me and that would be Michael Jordan.
And besides, it’s not even accurate:
BUT they both did Hanes underwear commercials.
Apparently the highest known Bacon number is 7, for William Rufus Shafter. But that seems a stretch, since he’s an actual historical figure who merely appeared in two shorts as himself.
…including a 2008 warning from Chris Stevens, his own self, that Benghazi was becoming crazy central.
Where the eff were the Marines, anyway?
Why the eff did we have an embassy in Benghazi when the capital is Tripoli?
It was a consulate, not an embassy, which means no Marines.
Thank you, some one finally understands.
Why the eff was Chris Stevens going to Benghazi on 9/11 of all days when he knew it was crazy central? It’s not like ambassadors have their schedule dictated to them?
Umm, how do you “accidentally” tweet a picture of yourself, topless or not topless?
Alcohol or cocaine is usually involved. Also, “accidentally” here, means “upon further reflection this was a bad idea”. Like when you accidentally take home the moped from the bar.
By definition a moped isn’t an accident unless you’re caught.
Daily fail has the pic. Damn, she is very cute

The geniuses at Gawker have solved the education problem: Let’s ban private schools!
I provided a quote. Phfft!
It’s an oft-noted irony of the confrontation in Chicago that Mayor Rahm Emanuel sends his children to the private, $20,000-a-year University of Chicago Lab School, which means his family doesn’t really have much of a personal stake in what happens to the school system he is trying to reform.
This strategy also worked when Foreman infected Cameron with the same disease from which he was dying.
No mention, I’m sure, of the Glorious One currently in the Oval Office sending his kids to a similar institution.
Actually he does, but then he quickly pivots and says that he doesn’t blame Obama because the DC public schools are shit.
At any rate, equality is everyone being equally miserable and everyone being taught at an early age to love the state and hate the idea of individual achievement and personal success. This isn’t stupid, it’s evil.
It’s basically like that, except that it turns out Foreman was being poisoned by his friends, and he’s all like “I can’t screw with my friends, even if it means getting the antidote”, and then they both die horribly.
I’ve told you before, if you don’t get the statist first they are going to get you eventually.
“…there’s also a moral argument for banning private education. Put simply: Equality of opportunity demands that children should not be penalized?or advantaged?by the accident of their birth. Educational benefits, which are the most crucial resource when it comes to determining the life-outcomes for children of all backgrounds, shouldn’t be distributed based on how rich your parents are. They should be distributed equally.”
So, using your own resources to benefit your pwn kids is immoral? The logical endgame to that morality is not letting kids be raised by their parents, because, well not all people are able or willing to provide same care to their children.
This is the type morality you get when “equality” is the highest value over liberty and individuality.
Morality dictates that all Alpha parents should drink and smoke heavily during pregnancy to offset the accidents of birth that include genetic and perinatal environmental advantages.
Beta parents should only drink or smoke- not both.
“…there’s also a moral argument for banning private education. Put simply: Equality of opportunity demands that children should not be penalized?or advantaged?by the accident of their birth…..”
Such people would level the playing field by cutting everyone’s legs off.
I know its probably the wrong day, but bite my shiny blue ass, they’ve discovered a new species of monkey.
How the hell is something the size of a monkey not already discovered?
From the article I read, the locals had brought home a young one for a little girl while on a bush meat hunt. So they knew about them. They just weren’t in the catalog by white men.
It’s the wrong day. Monkey Tuesday is called that for a reason.
Very intelligent-looking monkey. Too intelligent looking if you ask me.
I couldn’t remember whether it was monkey tuesday or monkey thursday and I’ve already been to urkobold once today.
SULU FRIDAY
There’s something really disturbing about that first picture.
He almost has a look of resigned wisdom and ennui, like “I’m too old for this shit”
You know, I bet a religion focusing on this monkey gets started.
When did a gypsy curse turn Gene Wilder in to a monkey?
Poor little guy has blue balls all the time.
I guess he’s married, then.
I’d hit it.
Your evil communist idea of the day…
Let’s Ban Private Schools!
PWND
Someday the pwn you save may be your own.
i’m really fucking excited here in WA for our legalized MJ thing to pass.
i am thinking it probably won’t, but a man can dream
it would be awesome. not just for the fact that MJ will be legal
but because it will make the feds apoplectic.
“but because it will make the feds apoplectic.”
Maybe they should get a MM card to ease the pressure.
Darling take it slow, or someday you’ll be all alone.
Equality of opportunity demands that children should not be penalized?or advantaged?by the accident of their birth.
I see no way to achieve this equality without removing all children from their parents at birth and raising them in state institutions.
Only clones could be equal.
I’m 99th percentile in height, IQ, GPA, and LSAT. We’re way past state institutions; we need a Handicapper General.
Being a lawyer will be handicap enough, trust me.
The GPA stat is odd. It usually doesn’t go with the IQ and standardized test scores.
The only reason you provided the quote was in case you you’d the link. I was still first.
Well to their credit, a lot of the Gawker commentators are calling him out on his bullshit.
I mean how do you propose this idea and then not embrace the socialist label? You’re asking for the nationalization of child rearing to make kids ‘equal’, which involves instilling in them an equal love of the state and quashing any trace of individuality or notion of personal achievement.
And here you are, commenting on my link. HAHAHA!
But you see, it’s really individualistic and capitalist, because it’s still up to the kids to succeed later in life!
I have seen this kind of argument made when discussing massive interventions in the name of “equality of opportunity.”
Yeah, but Warren Buffet suggested it, and he’s rich and capitalist-y, so it must be true and totally not Marxist.
You know who else had simple solutions…
Euler?
Bueller? Bueller?
Marx?
Antoine Lavoisier?
Arithmetic teachers?
Simon Gruber.
King Solomon?
Public schools do cost the parents something. They’re just being subsidized by non-parents.
He literally believes the only problem with the public schools is insufficient funding. Even the fucking teachers will let students and parents share some of the blame. What an evil little moron.
I didn’t mind part of it. Make all politicians’ children go to public schools.
Remember, kids: envy is just a much a form of hate as prejudice. John Cook is a reminder that progsocialism is an ideology of hate. What a worthless piece of human shit. When I publish an anti-Muhammed film, it’s going to give every acting and writing credit to him.
Is “John Cook” Tony’s public identity?
The government may cut off the flow of subsidies to the wind power industry and start sending cash to New England fishermen instead.
The migratory bird lobby is more powerful than the tasty fish lobby.
Victoria’s Secret brings in butt double for bikini shoot. Seriously, there’s no way the waterfall pictures are the same chick.
I wonder if the person who wrote the article gets paid, I mean it’s not like anyone is going to read the few lines of text sandwiched between all those pictures.
And I think it’s really her.
Dude, Swanpoel is known for how fucking ridiculously amazing her body is, especially her ass. It’s no body double.
The government needs to regulate her body and make her uglier since according to Gawker your success in life shouldn’t be affected by the random circumstances of your genes and birth.
Just let them try.
(racks shotgun)
How can she be so thin up top with such a great ass. I’m impressed.
Do not doubt Swanepool’s behind.
-poel! Knew I’d mess it up. Swanepoel.
Their names are funny and hard to spell, but the Afrikaner accent is one of the sexiest accents you’ll hear from a woman.
Finally, a musical interlude for you. Because fuck you, that’s why. I figured I’d post the theme song for anyone who hasn’t heard it.
lol
“He doesnt give a fuck about your education
He just wants to tie you up with binding legislation ”
just … lol
Great song, thanks.
Reminds me of The Demics and many other bands around London in the 80s.
It turns out that striking Chicago teachers are really bent out of shape over charter schools…
They send one of their kids to the charter school, you send everyone else’s to the street corner. That’s the Chicago way!
Isn’t that just like a FoE? Brings a quote to a PM Links.
Decent people, in Libya? Good to see.
Who knows? Maybe they don’t want to get droned.
At Las Vegas campaign event, Obama compares his volunteers with the murdered American officials in Libya.
Romney could probably win in a walk by using his commercial air time to just air Obama’s latest doings (since we know they’ll be ignored by the MSM).
And yet the focus has almost exclusively been on whether Romney’s statement on the incident was appropriate or not. Not a single mention of the fact that this whole Arab Spring is blowing up in our face despite how awesome and charismatic Obama is.
I’m trying hard to see why the president or his supporters would even mention Romney in reference to this issue. See, Romney can’t even be indirectly blamed for the fucking mess. Not yet, anyway.
BERNANKE: If the fiscal cliff does occur…I don’t think the Federal Reserve has the tools to offset that, and we would have to rethink at that point.
At least the Chairman is honest about *something*.
The free market has the tools.
That’s crazy talk, PL. The economy would be like a rudderless ship!
It’s the one thing we haven’t tried in a while. I call it Quantitative Getthefuckoutofmywayment.

Just mentioned this in another thread but worth reposting here:
The libs are now saying that the overturning of the NDAA on constitutional grounds is actually a Brilliant Ploy by Obama who was of course against indefinite detention all long. He’s even smarter than we thought!

Sweet Jesus. This is how American liberty vanishes. Because we’re stupid.
Who’s “we”, Mick man?
They’re not stupid, ProL. Well, they’re idiots, but this isn’t stupidity. It’s partisanship with a healthy dose of delusion and wishful thinking and a dash of white guilt.
No, it’s stupidity. They may not be stupid in everything, but their stupidity in this is going to put you and me and others in black outfits with cars wired to explode all the same.
“Against stupidity,
The very gods themselves
Contend in vain.”
There you go, bringing the gods into it again…
Well, I’m looking to God, superaliens, or emergent AI to save us, because we’re not doing so well.
“we’re”
COLLECTIVIST!!11!
Sigh. Me and other individuals similarly situated, purely due to random chance.
Jesus, this is like talking to Episiarch.
Jesus?!?
I wasn’t talking to you.
Shouldn’t knowingly signing an unconstitutional act be grounds for dismissal from the Presidency?
Yeppers. Remember when Bush signed a law with a signing statement that the law was unconstitutional? That’s as impeachable as it gets to me.
Wait, what I don’t get is that logically, the COMMERCE CLAUSE!! authorizes government to do anything to anyone anywhere anytime, so why don’t we just simplify everything by having Congress meet once a year to reconsider and expand the list of things we’re required to do as Good Citizens.
No, no, the Commerce Clause has limits. The vogue clause for infinite power is now the Tax and Spending Clause.
As long as they’re going to make up powers they might as well make up clauses too.
I’ve always advocated citing to the Preamble for absolute power. Pursuit of happiness!
“Necessary and Proper” LOOMS
“In a clever constitutional maneuver perpetrated by the Obama administration”
And no proof is offered. Reality-based reporting!!
He’s immaculate and pure, he’d never do anything to betray his progressive disciples. O ye of little faith, do you not know that to follow Obama and enter his Kingdom you must have the faith of little children?
New York City has officially imposed its much-discussed ban on big sodas. It’s a good thing we’d never think of buying two smaller ones.
Or going to a place with free refills.
i’m really fucking excited here in WA for our legalized MJ thing to pass.
i am thinking it probably won’t, but a man can dream
it would be awesome. not just for the fact that MJ will be legal

Yes, but how do you feel about this kick in the nuts?
Washington: the land of loose but improperly applied handgun laws and a corrupt hellhole of police protectionism and double-standards.
WARNING: a Dunphy-Sloopy shitstorm is about to ensue. Abandon all hope ye who enter here.
not really, a serious man. i’ve come to the conclusion, looking over past threads, that there is a small cadre of people here (nowhere near the majority) who just are not intellectually honest, who troll incessantly, and who are more interested in personal attacks and playing “gotcha” than in reasoned 🙂 discourse.
so, no shitstorm will ensue, because i am going to take the high ground and continue to speak with the adults and continue to ignore the trolls.
fwiw, that report really isn’t much of a big deal at all. it isn’t saying the cops are doing bad shoots or using bad force, it’s merely saying the methods used to investigate same are lacking
and it’s hardly a kick in the nuts, but they make some good points
from what i’ve seen of how that agency investigates they SHOULD and CAN improve their methodology
iow, i , to some extent agree .
for example, i don’t think the 72 hr wait period is a good policy. i assume it’s a union thang, so it will be a matter of bargaining to change, but it’s poor policy
and of course before the double standard nimrods kick in, these are COMPELLED civil statements, which don’t even apply in non-cop shootings (since non-cops can’t be administratively compelled)
i think that agency can definitely improve how they investigate their cop shootings.
fwiw, that report really isn’t much of a big deal at all. it isn’t saying the cops are doing bad shoots or using bad force, it’s merely saying the methods used to investigate same are lacking
Hahahahaha. Are you fucking seriously deluded? The report says they basically have no oversight at all and allow the cops 72 hours to craft whatever story they want when they decide to smoke somebody. Coupled with the DOJ report and the last consultant’s conclusions, it’s apparent that King County, Washington is one of the most corrupt places in America and people should be wary of anyone wearing a badge and carrying a gun because they will not be held accountable for their actions.
You’re the most disingenuous arguer on here, did you know that? You don’t give a fuck that officers are not held to account for their actions. You do not care about justice. You do not care about freedom or equality under the law. You care about protecting your union cronies and upholding the double-standard they are allowed to apply to themselves. Fuck you. Fuck your fellow officers. And fuck Washington for not holding them accountable.
for example, i don’t think the 72 hr wait period is a good policy. i assume it’s a union thang, so it will be a matter of bargaining to change, but it’s poor policy
I move that we form a civilian union and demand we be given 72 hours to write our own statements when we have a bad interaction with someone that results in gunplay. How will that play with your boys down at the station house, asshole?
Fuck your double-standard.
and of course before the double standard nimrods kick in, these are COMPELLED civil statements, which don’t even apply in non-cop shootings (since non-cops can’t be administratively compelled)
First off, those “statements” they get 72 hours to craft can’t be used in a courtroom setting or to determine if criminal charges are warranted. Second, when it happens to a “civilian,” they can be dragged to the police station in cuffs and held in an interrogation room until they make bail. So don’t give me that bullshit about us not being compelled like cops are. They get to go home to their families and do what they please for three days and give a statement that cannot be used in any other fashion other than to discipline the officer internally. They are not cuffed, threatened and cajoled into making a statement by armed men.
Also, they maintain custody of most of the evidence as well, or their co-workers do. Tell me how that’s even remotely close to what we would go through, where officers are allowed to lie to us and tell us they have evidence that doesn’t exist in an attempt to get a statement out of us.
The double-standard is a fucking joke and you either know it and you’re being dishonest or you’re a fucking retard that should be walking around with a helmet on.
The hell you say
THIS DOESN’T MEAN “NOT REAL!” “CAREFULLY STAGED” DOES NOT = “NOT REAL”!!11!!

Incredibly well mixed.
Death Valley, California officially recognized as hottest place ever after officials overturn previous world record for heat recorded in Libya. So take that, Libyans.
Global cooling!
Six years later, this woman gets her day in court.
I guess the department thought it was OK to taze an unarmed and handcuffed woman 10 fucking times.
The money quote from one of the cop’s attorney: “Even though she does have injuries, my clients did not violate her rights,” Gilbert said.

Molly Ball ruined a great article.
Should Mitt Romney have waited a few more hours before he criticized President Obama’s handling of the attacks in Egypt and Libya on Tuesday? Should Obama, if he was so concerned about politicking against a backdrop of tragedy, have refrained from firing back, or declined to campaign Wednesday night in Las Vegas?
Who cares?
[blah blah blah]
This is about as close to an apples to apples comparison as you can get in the NAEP data-much smaller range in variation in family income, general education students.
“As close to an apples to apples comparison as you can get” should not be confused with “an apples to apples comparison.”
It could very well come down to a matter of 3 votes in the Electoral College given the way the map looks.
Absolutely. Go play with the maps at 270towin. A tie is a significant possibility.
So awesome! Man pays $137 traffic ticket with $1 bills folded into origami pigs.

…and he delivers them in a Dunkin’ Donuts box.
What was his score on the troll-o-meter?
The FAIL’s take on it is rather insulting, however, making sure to mock the futility of the gesture and pointing out the amusement of the cops as they make the guy dance on their puppet strings to unfold all the bills before they accept the payment.
If two smaller sodas cost the same as a banned large one, why would the tax be any different? Granted, they might be more expensive in cost per ounce.
