Brickbat: Own Goal
Ukrainian officials have banned the movie "The Match" about a historic soccer game in 1942 between Ukrainian athletes and German soldiers occupying the country. They say the movie could spark tensions between the countries when their national teams play in the 2012 European Championships, which Ukraine is co-hosting. Officials also object to the movie's depiction of many Kiev residents as Nazi collaborators.

Every country has its taboos, in Ukraine it is the fact that there was support for the Germans invading the USSR. One can understand it if one knows about the millions that died in the Holodomar, basically anyone was preferable to Stalin at that time for some people.
It took some incredible acts of stupidity by Hitler to lose that war. One of the dumbest acts was treating liberated peoples like shit. Everyone knows that Civil Affairs is a force multiplier.
The Ukrainians and even the Russians themselves welcomed the Germans at first - and would have fought on their side given an opportunity. So Adolf sent in the SS to prove that the new boss was even worse than Stalin.
Too late - there are already tensions between Germany and Ukraine. The German President is boycotting a meeting of Presidents in Ukraine, and both him and Angela Merkel said they'd boycott European Championship games played in Ukraine and only watch their team when it plays in Poland.
Sounds like a plan to me dude.

That means they think the Ukraine will make it to the 3rd round, which is the soonest the two nations could meet in the tournament.
I'd be watching the match up between Poland and Russia.
Czech Republic v Poland will be good too - neighbours hatin' on each other.
this is a movie I'd like to see. I liked Victory but Pele was wrong. Hatch could not have been a good goalkeeper.
