Vice presidential candidates, though commonly thought to be politically important, rarely make a discernible difference. So a wise presidential candidate will disregard all the bogus factors that excite political forecasters and commentators, writes Steve Chapman. Romney should ask only two questions: 1) Would this person be an asset to his administration? and 2) Is this person equipped to be president?
