  1. mr simple   13 years ago

I think you might have left out the panel with the joke in it.

    1. Mango Punch   13 years ago

Like, a third panel with Joe Paterno and a boy that says "died of cancer"

      1. Bucky   13 years ago

or, a third panel with Sandusky and a big, tatted con with his arm around Jerry that says "payment due"...

  2. Fist of Etiquette   13 years ago

    Sigh.

  3. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

I didn't know that Evil Bob Newhart coached the Saints.

  4. Bee Tagger   13 years ago

There goes Guillen playing with himself again.

  5. Lord Humungus   13 years ago

okay, this is on the bottom of the Bok pile - deep down in a dark well of human misery.

  6. invisible furry hand   13 years ago

Note that the football player has a shrunken head for a manbag. Is Chip Bok a secret surrealist?

  7. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

Why is everybody so mad at Guillen?

Guy is the first blind manager in the history of baseball. Sure he made the mistake of hiring Fidel Castro and his anthropomorphic bat, Toothy, as his personal assistant/bullpen coach, but c'mon! Fidel knows a devious sinker when he sees one.

  8. sage   13 years ago

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  9. Bardas Phocas   13 years ago

    I don't understand hockey.

    1. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

It's just like baseball, but played on ice.

      1. Lord Humungus   13 years ago

but with flaming hoops and the half-time all-nude cheerleader dance.

        1. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

          Jeeze man, Canadians. Wow.

          Am I right?

    2. Suki   13 years ago

      +1

    3. sarcasmic   13 years ago

      Eh?

      1. Bucky   13 years ago

...and then they pulled letters out of the hat, one at a time. "the first letter is C, eh. the next is N, eh...

      2. neoteny   13 years ago

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsgVspgy184

"He's, like, died with a smile on its face, eh?

  10. mr simple   13 years ago

The New Orleans Saints and the Miami Marlins have both been fined for unsportsmanlike behavior, notes Chip Bok.

Oh, so this is just an informative cartoon not meant to be funny as Bok transitions to serious newsman?

    1. Evil Otto   13 years ago

Yes, Bok is like a flying squirrel.

Of course, the Marlins weren't fined.

      1. JCS   13 years ago

Bok plays for the Richmond AAA baseball team? I wasn't aware of that.

  11. Night Elf Mohawk   13 years ago

If the black and gold football uniform with the fleur-de-lis doesn't tell you "Saints" without having to label the guy, you're not going to know anything about the bounties or have any chance of getting the "joke."

  12. Longtorso   13 years ago

Life is an abyss. Scream into it and know that you are alone.

For some reason, Bok cartoons always make me think of that quote.

  13. sarcasmic   13 years ago

    Not enough labels.

    1. WTF   13 years ago

      Not enough funny.

      1. Libertymike   13 years ago

        Enough already.

    2. invisible furry hand   13 years ago

it inspired me to go look at some old-skool Australian cartoonists.

Exhibit 1: Geoff Pryor from 1979 drawing the then PM and a Minister. Note the total lack of labels, because his drawings were recognisable
      http://www.nla.gov.au/apps/cdv.....an22945887

Exhibit 2: The sublime Patrick Cook. A judge was alleged to have propositioned a man in a public toilet http://netk.net.au/Whitton/On_files/image002.jpg

      1. Groovus Maximus   13 years ago

Must have been a big loo to fit two grown men.

  14. Suki   13 years ago

    Yawn

  15. Formerly Almanian   13 years ago

    *stares blankly*

The words "wan smile" come to mind

  16. Joe M   13 years ago

I think we can all agree the Saints should have been permanently banned.

  17. db   13 years ago

Stick a turban on that severed head. It looks too much like a bomb.

  18. Longtorso   13 years ago

Bok is a poet among cartoonists. A Vogon poet.

    And now, something funny

Steve Smith's contract gives Panthers $4.75 million in cap space

    1. sarcasmic   13 years ago

      Vogon poetry generator.

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/hitc.....rgen.shtml

      1. kibby   13 years ago

OMG thank you so much for this.

    2. Fatty Bolger   13 years ago

How does a team with only one winning season and no playoff wins in 6 years find themselves in cap trouble? Amazing.

      1. Evil Otto   13 years ago

        Lots of high draft picks.

And they've got #6 this year, ouch.

        1. Fatty Bolger   13 years ago

I don't think they've been picking that high, except for last year. Maybe they were mislead by that 12-4 season and re-signed a lot of players for too much money?

Anyway, the new rookie cap changes should keep the high pick salaries under control from now on.

    3. Bobarian   13 years ago

      As opposed to -

STEVE SMITH contact give Panthers rectal bleeding.

      1. 35N4P2BYY   13 years ago

You mean the footballer Steve Smith and STEVE SMITH are discrete individuals!? Well that clears up a lot for me.

  19. some guy   13 years ago

Huzzah! They fixed the login script so it sends you back to the forum unstead of sending you to your account page! Huzzah!

Also, the two panels of this comic have nothing to do with one another. Why not add a third panel with Kim Jong Un crashing a rocket into a Golden Corral?

    1. Broseph of Invention   13 years ago

So you're saying we leave it to the North Koreans to fix our SS and Medicare problems?

  20. Fatty Bolger   13 years ago

    The Distraction

    1. Bucky   13 years ago

nuthin' like kickin' him while his down...
      except maybe kickin' him twice...

  21. DengFing   13 years ago

Sounds to me like it might be time to hit it up JD.
