Off with His Head

After a heavy snowfall in England, children spent hours building some 50 snowmen and igloos in London's Homefield Recreation Ground. Just hours later, local council workers went through the park knocking down snowmen or lopping their heads off. When parents complained, the workers said they were just protecting the grass. A spokesman for the local council later apologized for the snowman massacre.
