Yes, the rumors and relatively incessant posts, tweets, and pre-roll and post-roll commercials are all true: On June 28, Matt Welch and I are releasing our book-lenght manifesto, The Declaration of Independents: How Libertarian Politics Can Fix What's Wrong with America.
For ongoing coverage of reviews, book tour dates, events, media appearances, and all things Declaratory, go to Declaration2011.com. Here's a sampling of the early notices on the book:
"An enthusiastic, entertaining libertarian critique of American politics, brimming with derision for the status quo and optimism for the future and confident of the right direction" - Kirkus Reviews
"This is the up-to-date statement of libertarianism. Not warmed-over right-wing politics, but real, true-blooded libertarianism in the sense of loving liberty and wanting to find a new path toward human flourishing." - Tyler Cowen, Marginal Revolution
"I thought the title was 'You're a libertarian and you just don't know it,' but I think that's basically what the book's about. Think of it as a political alarm clock." - Amy Alkon, The Advice Goddess

It doesn't get more libertarian than this: "HOA threatens to sue wildfire survivor"
The Declaration of Independents
Did you guys proof this thing? I don't know if you've gone to print yet, but there's already a document with that title, maybe you've heard of it, it starts with "We the people..."
Plus, you spelled it wrong.
No, "book-lenght" is a widely recognized alternate spelling.
> it starts with "We the people..."
Your joke would have been funny if you hadn't Obama'ed the punchline.
The Declaration of Independence begins
It's the Constitution that begins
I'm sure that if some non-libertarian commenter here had made that mistake, the rest of the independent-minded correct-thinking pack here would have considered it evidence that anyone who deviates from accepted doctrine is stupid.
I would let that go, but you dared to liken me to Obama.
There is a running meme here (and probably elsewhere) of people "mistakenly" attributing lines from the Declaration to the Constitution, thanks to so many of our leaders and pundits doing so.
And however I present my jokes, whether or not they ever "would have been funny" is, of course, always debatable.
And those politicians and pundits who conflate the two are really making fun of the meme.
Meta.
So Edward is gone for good, right? This thread won't feel right without him flinging his poop.
Why is he gone for good?
If only you were gone for good. That would be justice.
you'd miss me, and I would miss you too
No, rectal. I only miss humans. And Warty.
Yes dear. Go get my fucking coffee, and take care of me bitch. BTW, Warty is a sweet old man!!! I love his dirty mouth
Warty is a sweet old man!!!
Warty is a skinny acne faced mullet headed 19 year old who rides around town in cut off jeans and sleeveless megadeath shirt on a BMX killing neighborhood cats with his pellet gun.
He is neither sweet nor old.
Too bad, I like to fuck sweet old men 😉
