I'm seeing Geraldo. Did they reschedule?

        1. Suki   14 years ago

Shoot your television and then yourself.

    2. Suki   14 years ago

The Busey thing was overrated. Just go die like the 'Friday Funnies' writers should do to spare us of their shit.

Remember, Reason isn't a right-wing shadow puppet organization. Their constant appearances on Fox News is just a coincidence.

    1. Fist of Etiquette   14 years ago

Much like this lovefest between Jacob Sullum and Bill O'Reilly.

    2. rathr   14 years ago

a right-wing FREE SPEECH shadow puppet organization. Kinda like Republicans are with sex-only they can go to hookers, have gay sex in bathrooms or graveyards

"Remember, Reason isn't a right-wing shadow puppet organization. Their constant appearances on Fox News is just a coincidence."

Remember, Hobie has a running ad on Ebay to buy a second brain cell.

      1. Eric   14 years ago

I thought that the listing was to sell the one that he still has. Eh, what the hell: with Hobie's outstanding grasp of the difference between action and inaction, and between positive/negative rights, it's probably the same thing to him.

        1. Mr. FIFY   14 years ago

MSNBC should invite Balko on this topic, but that isn't likely.

Yes, they even have the power to cause leftist posters to forget basic rules of pluralization in their vacuous one-sentence replies.

    5. Mr. FIFY   14 years ago

So, Hobie... you're okay with asset forfeiture. Got it.

      1. IRS   14 years ago

        WE are.

  4. Fist of Etiquette   14 years ago

Fox News Channel tonight at 9pm ET.

I think someone forgot to change their clocks for the start of Daylight Saving Time. And it's either me or Geraldo, who is on my television right now misanalysing various topics, none of which is asset forfeiture.

If I hear the Judge refer to the mystical concept of "natural law," one more fucking time...Seriously, isn't it enough to say that people should be allowed to profit, fuck, take drugs, and blaspheme god without relying on a higher power for approval?

    1. Mr Whipple???   14 years ago

      2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

Some people can benefit from the use of a 12-Step Program to eliminate their dependency on alcohol government. I call it Statists Anonymous.

By the way, when will Reason finally allow us to delete multiple posts?

    2. The Unforgettable Fire   14 years ago

I think it's a valid concept and not at all mystical.

    3. Glans Vanderproblum   14 years ago

blaspheme god without relying on a higher power for approval

I'm pretty sure you meant "rely on God most high without approving blasphemy". This is a right-wing shadow puppet organization, after all.

      1. Jess Asken   14 years ago

If God can do anything, can he blaspheme Himself?

        1. PantsFan   14 years ago

can he make a triangle round?
          what a dumbass question.

          1. Barley LeGall   14 years ago

Well, now we have two conundrums.

Here's another: Can He make a rock so big He can't pick it up?

            1. PantsFan   14 years ago

can he make a square that has only 3 sides?
              you're an idiot.

              1. Spartha Rodd   14 years ago

Crap, even I can do that:
                ________
                |
                |
                |

                |________

        2. crimethink   14 years ago

Even God can't do logically impossible things... which is the usual explanation for the existence of Hell and our possibility of going there.

          1. PantsFan   14 years ago

Can God make the slithy toves gyre and gimble in the wabe?

          2. Anonymous Coward   14 years ago

Depends on your metaphysical idea of reality and God. To the Orthodox Church, Hell is not a "place", but a state of being. To the unrepentent and those who hate God, they will stand in His presence beside the righteous, but, because of the state of their souls, they will feel suffering rather than joy. The Catholics say Hell is an actual place, complete with fire, brimstone, pitchforks, and all that other fun Freudian imagery. Luther and Calvin got a great, big pair of hard-ons between the two of them on the idea of people being tortured for all eternity.

And then you have the odd ducks who believe in Annihilationism, temporary punishment, kind of like the Buddhist idea of Hell cleansing a soul between cycles of reincarnation, or you're going to get shat out of reality and hang around in non-existant nothingness, but remain conscious.

Jews don't believe in "Hell" (eternal torture and suffering, unless you did something truly heinous) and that everybody goes to "Sheol" where they are judged based on their deeds in life, then, depending on how that goes, you wait around in Sheol while reflecting on your misdeeds, and, after no more than a year in Sheol, then you get to go to Heaven, whether you were a Jew or not.

Don't forget that antechamber, Purgatory, and Hades, where, in the Christian faiths, Protestants believe souls are waiting to be judged, as they believe Christ has not yet returned.
