    hey man...shit happens!

  5. TheOtherSomeGuy   15 years ago

Showing Carville in a HazMat suit mistakenly implies that someone associated with the government is actually doing something to clean up the spill and not just trying to punish CEOs without a trial.

    1. anarch   15 years ago

Haz Mat? Isn't that a secret Zionist group?

So not only racist, but bigoted too.

      1. DADIODADDY   15 years ago

Haz mat...isn't that what frat boys do to Mat?

        1. ?   15 years ago

Hazmat suit = radioactive protection = wants to keep from getting hit with Obama's fallout

  6. Max   15 years ago

This isn't nearly as funny as the idea of Ron Paul as president. I gues the faithful don't get it,

    1. theocrat   15 years ago

Right. They can take their cheap shots at Obama but once he's sworn in he'll show them what the new way is like.

    2. SugarFree   15 years ago

Max, you won't know funny if it slapped you in your suppurating cunt.

                1. ?   15 years ago

Joe at least had the decency to refrain from becoming unhinged until after a dozen or two exchanges on any particular thread, rather than opening up in full-on off-my-meds mode.

'Bout time. Have any two successive Presidents ever more closely physically resembled each other? Bush and Obama have the same head. It's fucked up.

Every incarnation of Edward franchise has had a hard-on for bitching about Ron Paul. That's why so many people think Dondero is behind it.

        1. John   15 years ago

Dondero is a bit before my time. Or he was here when I started but I never paid attention to him. What was his deal?

          1. SugarFree   15 years ago

Used to work for Ron Paul and is now disgruntled, claims to be the only authentic libertarian despite voting in lockstep with the GOP. Is what we'd call a paleolibertarian. Endorsed Guliani for President in 2008. He's been here in your "era" he just doesn't come around here much.

You know the deeply unfunny and completely tired Gabe spoof-handle "Cosmotarian Overlord"? That's how Dondero views Reason-style libertarianism.

            1. Suki   15 years ago

I am ready to just end all government participation in education. Unbelievable.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. ? Christan Morales said her son just wanted to honor American troops when he wore a hat to school decorated with an American flag and small plastic Army figures.

But the school banned the hat because it ran afoul of the district's zero-tolerance weapons policy. Why? The toy soldiers were carrying tiny guns.

"His teacher called and said it wasn't appropriate," Morales said.

Morales' 8-year-old son, David, had been assigned to make a hat for the day when his second-grade class would meet their pen pals from another school. She and her son came up with an idea to add patriotic decorations to a camouflage hat.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/201.....hat_banned

Do they have some kind of test in education colleges to make sure only stupid people get their certification?

BP Oil Spill: Against Gov. Jindal's Wishes, Crude-Sucking Barges Stopped by Coast Guard

59 Days Into Oil Crisis, Gulf Coast Governors Say Feds Are Failing Them

Coast Guard Orders Barges to Stop
    So why stop now?

"The Coast Guard came and shut them down," Jindal said. "You got men on the barges in the oil, and they have been told by the Coast Guard, 'Cease and desist. Stop sucking up that oil.'"

A Coast Guard representative told ABC News today that it shares the same goal as the governor.

"We are all in this together. The enemy is the oil," said Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Dan Lauer.

But the Coast Guard ordered the stoppage because of reasons that Jindal found frustrating. The Coast Guard needed to confirm that there were fire extinguishers and life vests on board, and then it had trouble contacting the people who built the barges.

    http://abcnews.go.com/WN/bp-oi.....d=10946379

    1. COL Bat Guano   15 years ago

Hey, I can't shoot that. That is private property.

    2. Astrid   15 years ago

But the Coast Guard ordered the stoppage because of reasons that Jindal found frustrating. The Coast Guard needed to confirm that there were fire extinguishers and life vests on board, and then it had trouble contacting the people who built the barges.

Serious question: Why would you need to contact the people who built the barges? Couldn't you just ask the people on the barges to show these items? And why the hell does it matter anyway? If you out around oil in the ocean without lifejackets and fire extinguishers you sort of deserve whatever comes of it.

      1. Tim   15 years ago

This is unbelievable. The ocean is full of oil, let's focus on lifejackets. Good thing inspecting for lifejackets wasn't job 1 at Normandy.

      2. Joette   15 years ago

Hey, Coast Guard. Stop playing cop of the waters and do something that's actually helpful. Like, I don't know, maybe using some of those Federal Powers you have to supply life jackets and fire extinguishers to the barges so they can keep doing what they're doing?

    3. sage   15 years ago

Wow. Full retard on the red tape.

      1. The Gobbler   15 years ago

Add to that Obama's declining the oil skimmers from Holland and his unwillingness to lift the Jones act temporarily.

But he's got plenty of time to play golf and have performers like McCartney entertain him and his buddies at the Whitehouse.

This is without a doubt the most incompetent president in living memory.

        1. Tim   15 years ago

It's hard not to conclude this is deliberate.

          1. Tim   15 years ago

Maybe incompetence in it's purest form is indistinguishable from deliberate malfeasance.
