I take exception to the suggestion that our Congressmen are actually involved in writing legislation.

Legislative aides and lobbyists write the bills. Our congresscritters' primary duty is to OK the press release.

      1. PapayaSF   15 years ago

Yes, the fact that employees of Congressional committees are specifically exempted from healthcare reform likely indicates who wrote it.

And this is one of Bok's better efforts.

Man Ticketed For Flipping Off Officer Gets $4K

    1. James   15 years ago

The officer could have ticketed him for improper "turn single". There was an officer where I live, that did that to a guy that flipped him off as he was pulling away.

  6. Xeones   15 years ago

    Not terrible.

  7. DJF   15 years ago

Actually both understood what they were doing, the securities were sold under the understanding that the people trading would get huge salaries and bonuses, while the government bills were written under the understanding that the politicians would get lots of donations and other considerations in return for his support. Both also had the understanding that they were "too big to fail" so they would not suffer any major consequences for their action.

  8. P Brooks   15 years ago

I concur with the assessment of my esteemed colleague, Xeones.

  9. cynical   15 years ago

Wait, that was kind of funny. What the hell is going on here?

    1. Mike Laursen   15 years ago

I know. The Friday Funny was actually funny! My world is turned upside down. Can't tell black from white. Night from day. Don't know what's real anymore.

      1. Jesse, Al, et al.   15 years ago

        "Can't tell black from white"

  11. Jamie Kelly   15 years ago

Better than "Mallard." Then again, a shit sandwich is better than "Mallard."

  12. P Brooks   15 years ago

Having your thumbs cut off with rusty tin snips is better than Mallard.

  13. CJ   15 years ago
