Not bad, a tad late, but not bad.

    1. Suki   16 years ago

      Good morning heller!

      1. heller   16 years ago

        Good morning Suki!

  2. Suki   16 years ago

    Good Morning reason!

    I smiled at this one.

  3. Fist of Etiquette   16 years ago

Are those cherubs John, Bobby and Ted? TOO SOON!

...and, as heller said, too late. Daily Friday Funnies would take care of that latency issue. Just saying.

    1. ed   16 years ago

      The Dead Cherubs. Nice touch.

    2. The Libertarian Guy   16 years ago

I was three months old when JFK got shot, so I have an alibi.

      1. Fist of Etiquette   16 years ago

That alibi didn't work for Maggie Simpson. Or maybe it did; I forget.

        1. The Libertarian Guy   16 years ago

I told that line to one guy who was so outraged, he didn't dig the irony therein.

Of course, when I said "oh, sorry... too soon?", it REALLY pissed him off, which was exactly the reaction I was looking for.

Oh, and natch... the guy was not only a Democrat, but a Teamster as well. Guess I'm lucky he didn't try to beat me up, which is what some union members view as an acceptable argument tactic.

Still, it felt damn good for a few minutes.

    Is 'ight.

It amazes me how many people think if a person has the last name Kennedy they will make a great politician.

    1. Suki   16 years ago

      They usually make great punchlines.

      1. Kennedy   16 years ago

There's a line for the punch? Where is it?

        1. Mr. Bigglesworth   16 years ago

          +1

    2. Mike M.   16 years ago

The good news is that the Kennedy political dynasty is as dead as the health care bill.

    3. Josef   16 years ago

I always cringe when I see a movie that has the "save the president's son" because, obviously, the son's the best thing since sliced toast.

    4. Ratko   16 years ago

It amazes me how many people think if a person has the last name Kennedy they will make a great politician just as mistakenly believe the USA is a democracy. It is not, and never has been. There are democratic elements incorporated into our constitutional republican form of governance, but that does not make us a democracy. The jackasses have been selling the democracy bullcrap since Woodrow Wilson, get people to believe that lie and the Constitution is no longer a road block to the progressive agenda. Sadly, I'd say they're winning on that one, and it really matters.

Can't really see the dead cherubs, maybe I lack a creative imagination. But, I liked the King Kennedy banner, isn't that the truth. Both parties have forgotten where we came from, and really don't care. Many in both parties appear to think of themselves as royalty, and that's disgusting.

Misfits: the kings of too soon

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVfeLavkFso

      1. Ratko   16 years ago

The Bullet song you linked to wasn't too bad. The Misfits - American Psycho one was more appealing to my tastes though. Intro is a little like Type O Negative then the song breaks into thrasher punk. Interesting fusion, Sid Vicious joins Gwar.

  8. Mango Punch   16 years ago

meh, a touch late and could have been a bit cleverer.

  9. Anonymous   16 years ago

In this economy the disregard for thrift in this gratuitous waste of punctuation makes my guts feel like a shwa full stop

  10. Attorney   16 years ago

Is it intentional or just a happy accident that the donkey has a pig's snout?

    1. Ratko   16 years ago

Sure looks like one. Another happy accident? would have been to make the jackass' head a pair of buttocks and have the elephant saying "You're going to look like an ass after this one!"

  11. Bingo   16 years ago

The idea that they are fighting over a throne is pretty clever, if you consider the incumbency rate.

  12. P Brooks   16 years ago

    I laughed like Nelson Muntz.

  13. Pro Libertate   16 years ago

    Snorted.

  14. Lamar   16 years ago

After all the moaning about the "threat to our democracy" after the Citizens United case, this one sort of fell flat.

    1. Ratko   16 years ago

As I read through the moaning all I could think is they certainly presuming a lot to already be calling us a democracy when they haven't even finished overthrowing our present form of government. They really do have a seething hatred for our Constitution, it's some thing they just can't hide whenever their emotions get the better of them.

  16. NAL   16 years ago

Decent, but could have been better.

  17. abercrombie milano   16 years ago

My only point is that if you take the Bible straight, as I'm sure many of Reasons readers do, you will see a lot of the Old Testament stuff as absolutely insane. Even some cursory knowledge of Hebrew and doing some mathematics and logic will tell you that you really won't get the full deal by just doing regular skill english reading for those books. In other words, there's more to the books of the Bible than most will ever grasp. I'm not concerned that Mr. Crumb will go to hell or anything crazy like that! It's just that he, like many types of religionists, seems to take it literally, take it straight...the Bible's books were not written by straight laced divinity students in 3 piece suits who white wash religious beliefs as if God made them with clothes on...the Bible's books were written by people with very different mindsets...in order to really get the Books of the Bible, you have to cultivate such a mindset, it's literally a labyrinth, that's no joke.
