    Like watching paint dry.

  2. Eric the .5b   16 years ago

Definitions are really the key here

libertine - 1) a dissolute person 2) what Reds who call themselves libertarians call actual libertarians.

  3. Free States   16 years ago

On the issue of the freest states, see http://www.mercatus.org/upload.....ns/Freedom in the 50 States.pdf

    1. Matt Welch   16 years ago

Wow, TONS of questions about the Free State Project.

  4. James Ard   16 years ago

Look how nice that chat worked out without threads.

    1. Eric the .5b   16 years ago

Well, if you want comment-posting delayed until someone's ready to respond, I suppose that would work...

      1. ausmax   16 years ago

look how nicely threaded comments work. Now anyone who doesn't care, doesn't have to read this comment. I'm dumbfounded that anyone would complain about such an obvious improvement to the site.

  5. briareus   16 years ago

    [Comment From Eddiehornblower: ]
    how do you beat apathy?

    Nick Gillespie:
Eddiehornblower: Why would you want to?

    Fucking classic.

  6. briareus   16 years ago

My question that wasn't answered: How much did you guys pay yourselves for this live chat?

    1. Art-P.O.G.   16 years ago

Damn, Lonewacko didn't get to ask any ToughQuestions.

      1. briareus   16 years ago

How dare you slime me with that slanderous label of he-who-should-neither-be-named-or-read?

        1. Art-P.O.G.   16 years ago

          I keed, I keed...

          1. briareus   16 years ago

You hurt my feeling. All one of them.

  7. Inkman   16 years ago

    We were ALL winners, really.

  8. automanipulator   16 years ago

I had three completely pointless questions answered while some of you crybabies had none. Suck it, those who are not me.

    1. briareus   16 years ago

Yeah, I had two meaningful ones ignored. Congratulations on degrading the signal to noise ratio. Not that it matters anyway, it was still an entertaining way to watch my lunch hour go by.

      1. John Berger   16 years ago

Increasing noise at the expense of signal is the primary method I used to make half of my college classes marginally bearable. Never underestimate the power of a stupid question!!

        1. John Berger   16 years ago

As an aside its also how politicians are able to skate through townhall meetings. They respond for 5 minutes on a pointless question while smiling like they farted in a crowded room all the while pimping their talking points. Followed by a 15 second non-answer of an important question.

      2. automanipulator   16 years ago

Hey, now that I think about it, we're much better off knowing that Matt Welch is the resident perv, Bowie & Gary Glitter are the preferred glam rockers, and Matt enjoys the beverage 'Squirt.' Maybe you guys were the ones with the retarded questions, not me.

  9. Sandi   16 years ago

Twice I asked where the bathroom was, but to no avail. What shitty hosts.

  10. J sub D   16 years ago

    I liked it.

My humble recommendation - Do it once a month/quarter with different staffers.

    1. Art-P.O.G.   16 years ago

      +1...it was fun

      1. Eric the .5b   16 years ago

        Agreed.

        1. briareus   16 years ago

Indeed; plus one on the agreed.

  11. Enough About Palin   16 years ago

FTR, I wasn't joking about a Reason TV Lonewacko interview. I think it would be hilarious. Perhaps they could film it at a cocktail party.

  12. robc   16 years ago

    RE: threaded comments

The silent majority should shut the fuck up.

  13. JB   16 years ago

John, Matt Welch has been in a causal relationship with himself since he started working here.

    Is that 'casual' or 'causal'?

  14. ???   14 years ago

    this is nice
