What? No machine that goes "PING"?

  2. Art-P.O.G.   16 years ago

    Not bad. A solid B.

  3. @   16 years ago

So many medical metaphors, so little time.

  4. smartass sob   16 years ago

Clever, I suppose - but not really funny.

  5. Tomcat1066   16 years ago

    Better than most.

  6. Mike in PA   16 years ago

Very nice. Much better than average.

  7. Anonymous   16 years ago

It's not a death machine, it's simply a machine which causes death.

  8. Mango Punch   16 years ago

    BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  9. Team America   16 years ago

The white lab-coat on the black anthropomorphized elephant is racist.

  10. Xeones   16 years ago

Is that how those machines work? I feel absolutely nothing toward this cartoon, which i guess is better than the usual confused rage Friday Funnies tend to bring out in me.

    Also, Team America is racist.

  11. Kurt   16 years ago

Wishful thinking maybe? Trying to invent your own reality?

  12. FrBunny   16 years ago

A friend of mine had a modest proposal yesterday.

What if every Republican in the House co-sponsored a bill that was identical to Obama's health plan, with one caveat: The bill triggers one year after passing and only if Medicare "waste and fraud" is reduced to the tune of $200B. Don't meet the goal? The bill becomes fishwrapping.

  13. sage   16 years ago

Instead of rebooting, shouldn't he be warming up the paddles? It's like this guy has never watched one of the gazillion hospital shows on TV these days.

  14. Warren   16 years ago

At last, a Friday Funny you don't have to hunt for the humor in. Not that it made me laugh. But still a comparative triumph for Stantis.

    Somewhat Funny
    Fully Relevant
    Solid Artwork
    Grade: B-

  15. R C Dean   16 years ago

    I like that proposal, FrBunny.

    Save first, then spend.

  16. Rich   16 years ago

FrBunny (and R C Dean), I also like the proposal. That technique of tying the "reward" of implementation to the act of really fixing problems should be widely used.

Think this'll make it through the President's open door?

  17. JW   16 years ago

    $200 billion?

Make it impossible to meet, say $10 billion.

  18. SugarFree   16 years ago

    "This machine kills taxpayers"

  19. FrBunny   16 years ago

The $200B was based on what Obama claims he can cut without breaking a sweat. You're right though, even $10B would never happen.

  20. Hobo Chang Ba   16 years ago

Uh - why is he pressing reboot on the monitoring device instead of whipping out the AED? Kinda doesn't make any sense at all.

  21. Paul   16 years ago

Uh - why is he pressing reboot on the monitoring device instead of whipping out the AED? Kinda doesn't make any sense at all.

Now I think you're beginning to get Obama's healthcare plan.

  22. jesse   16 years ago

exactly, obama is clueless when it comes to fixing anything and even if he knew what he was doing he would only try and make it look like he was trying to save it.

  23. Ron   16 years ago

$10 billion would be as easy to find as the now 1 million jobs the stimulus created

  24. battery   15 years ago

good, very good post, thanks,it is very useful for me

My only point is that if you take the Bible straight, as I'm sure many of Reasons readers do, you will see a lot of the Old Testament stuff as absolutely insane. Even some cursory knowledge of Hebrew and doing some mathematics and logic will tell you that you really won't get the full deal by just doing regular skill english reading for those books. In other words, there's more to the books of the Bible than most will ever grasp. I'm not concerned that Mr. Crumb will go to hell or anything crazy like that! It's just that he, like many types of religionists, seems to take it literally, take it straight...the Bible's books were not written by straight laced divinity students in 3 piece suits who white wash religious beliefs as if God made them with clothes on...the Bible's books were written by people with very different mindsets.
