Wow, that video is awesome. I don't think I've ever seen riot police turn & run like that before.

    1. ugg sale   16 years ago

The final reason why you should buy genuine, Aussie Uggs is that they will last longer. The merino sheepskin used is of a very high quality that will last you a long time and because the material allows your feet to breathe, they won't get sweaty causing the fabric to decay.

  2. Rich   16 years ago

They're probably running to get into their tanks. They'll be baaack! 8-(

  3. ktc2   16 years ago

I'm impressed that the Iranian police didn't open fire with automatics. Our cops here in the USA open fire on five pound chihuahuas out of fear for their life. In a situation like this they'd be shooting wild and blind and of course be found in full compliance with department "policy and procedures" and a two week paid suspensions (ie vacation).

  4. Spoonman   16 years ago

    Fuckshit that video is awesome.

  5. anon   16 years ago

that's the most zombie-apocalypse/conquest-of-the-planet-of-the-apes video I've ever seen.

  6. Cabeza de Vaca   16 years ago

The difference between 1979 & now is that the Shah depended on US support for his regime. Carter wouldn't let the Shah crack down on protestors. The current regime doesn't need outside support for its rule. I expect a bloody crack down in the not to distant future.

  7. Abdul   16 years ago

A few more videos like that, and Obama might go from "Concerned" to "Apprehensive."

  8. Telly   16 years ago

and they did it with rocks

just imagine if they had a well armed militia

    Long live the second amendment!

  9. Matt Welch   16 years ago

Were those rocks? They sure seemed like perfectly round, rollable spheroids to me. Baseballs, maybe?

  10. Kyle Jordan   16 years ago

    I'm thinking something very similar.

Canisters of tear gas, I bet. The protestors were throwing them back. The police also neglected to take into account the wind direction - you can tell if you look closely.

The Baseball Furies have a chapter in Iran? Awesome. 🙂

  13. Solana   16 years ago

    That video was unreal.

  14. Tulpa   16 years ago

Does Islam have an equivalent for St. Attila's Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch?

    One, two, five!

  15. Bronwyn   16 years ago

    Three, sir!

I watch the video and wonder when it will happen here.

Can it happen here, or are our countrymen too complacent?

  16. TrickyVic   16 years ago

Imagine if pro-Gore supporters protested like this after the 2000 election. Our cops would crack down on them and our government would claim it was the right thing to do.

  17. TrickyVic   16 years ago

"""I watch the video and wonder when it will happen here.

Can it happen here, or are our countrymen too complacent?"""

I dunno, something about how that last rebellion back in the 1800's went down.

  18. prophecy   16 years ago

So is this all about picking the lesser of the two evils?

  19. Slugger   16 years ago

I genuinely regret the use of violence and intimidation in the political process in Iran as I regret them in Zimbabwe, Darfur, Sri Lanka, and every other place. But before I get too swept up in Iran, can someone tell about Mr. Moussavi? What are his views on the theocracy? What is his position on the human rights of the Ba'hai and other religious minoities in Iran?

  20. Tulpa   16 years ago

I watch the video and wonder when it will happen here.

Can it happen here, or are our countrymen too complacent?

When our countrymen attempt to remove the abusers of power via the ballot box, that question will be relevant. So long as they keep reelecting petty tyrants on promises of more nanny state laws and federal govt largesse, it's not.

  21. ev   16 years ago

Oh I'd love it if they were baseballs. Two of my favorite things, hating the government and baseball, combined in some sort of Captain Planet-y way to become a beacon of Awesome.

I thought they were throwing bottles. It looks like there are little explosions when the fall.

  22. Cabeza de Vaca   16 years ago

    Slugger,

Mr. Moussavi is part of the theocracy that is why he was allowed to run for the presidency. He was Prime Minister from 1981 to 1989. He seems less insane than Ahmadinejad, but still he's a theocrat.

  23. Jonas   16 years ago

To me it looked like glass was being thrown, just my 2 cents.

Since that seems to be a point of contention.

  24. jtuf   16 years ago

The theme of the demonstrations seems to be shifting from the election to affirming the right to demonstrate from what I've read.

  25. jtuf   16 years ago

As part of its campaign to muzzle the foreign press, the Iranian government suspended the Dubai-based al-Arabiya network and detained at least two local journalists for US magazines.

This means the US now has skin in the game. Clinton made a scene in the 1990's about an American vandal punished with caining for vandalizm in Singapore. Having two US journalists arrested for journalism give Obama reason to confront the Iranian government.

  26. chi hair straightener   16 years ago

I have a story chi flat irons, one mother says she's aware something is very wrong, but she doesn't want to hear about it because she just wants to "be with her children and see them grow up happy." I tell her runescape gold, "But, if we don't stop this, your children may not get to grow up at all." so basically, she's using her kids as an excuse for her own inability to face reality.

  27. infants   16 years ago

just imagine if they had a well armed militia

    Long live the second amendment
