Attn. D.C. Area Reasonoids: Happy Hour, Wednesday, June 24, 6PM at Marvin!
On Wednesday, June 24, starting at 6 p.m., Reason magazine's D.C.-based staff will host a Happy Hour at the acclaimed Marvin bar on 14th street just above U. Please join us to celebrate:
The release of our July issue, featuring a cover story about President Obama's misguided emulation of Japan's "lost decade" of the 1990s, a Brian Doherty examination of Patri Friedman's "Seasteading" project, a peek into the government's official 9/11 coloring book, and much more.
Reason's success at the 51st annual Southern California Journalism awards competition, including two first-place trophies and three honorable mentions.
The advent of the Summer Solstice, which we will honor by enjoying beverages outside.
Marvin is located at 2007 14th Street NW, one block west of the U Street Cardozo Metro Stop on the Green Line. Join us for drinks and discussion on Marvin's Best of DC rooftop deck, which boasts a full bar and a selection of over 30 Belgian brews. The fun starts at 6 p.m. and ends when you say so. Come early for Reason swag, including free copies of the July issue, bumper stickers, and more!
Hope to see you on the 24th!

As far as Reason covers go, this one is pretty rad.
That cover could probably be considered racist, if it wasn't so accurate.
Primo cover. Excellent wording.
Love the yakuza tatt on his arm. Rockin' cover.
Disclaimer: this cover may induce seizures in people with a history of epilepsy or extreme racial oversensitivity. joe, we're talking about you.
The New York Times had an article insisting that Japan's problem was not starting the stimulus spending soon enough. Apparently the fact that the spending peaked in 1996 was used to claim that there hadn't been stimulus spending before that. In truth, a look at Japan's debt-to-GDP ratio would show that Japan tried stimulus spending exceeding even that of the US; Japan just kept trying it. And that's what the Times is going to argue for, anyway, a new, larger stimulus bill.

So it's a good thing we're spending all the stimulus right now.
Wait....
Please join us to celebrate
As this invitation applies only to "D.C. Area Reasonoids," [sic] why broadcast it to the rest of the world? Seems rather insensitive to me. Couldn't you send a chirp or a bark or a tweet instead?
Considering both the number of industries he's not at all interested in controlling, and the way the media is treating him, a tentacle or two would have been an appropriate addition.
Okay, so a quick question about this months cover. I get most of what's going on, with the exception of the cup in his hand. Is that a sake cup or is it "two girls, one cup" cup?
Please, please, please,
Post pictures of the government agent(s) concerned citizens shadowing observing your right-wing extremist meeting happy hour mixer.
Thank you and hope to see them there...

I think I might actually show up for this. Anyone interested in carpooling from the Frederick MD area?
What is the dress code?
