Another One Rides the Bus
Marc Martin says his 4 year-old son's backpack arrived at school, but the boy didn't. When officials at Thomas Jefferson School in Glenview, Illinois, saw the autistic boy was missing, they called police. They found the boy about an hour later, still on the school bus, which was parked at a party supply store where the driver, Yolande Knight, was shopping. She was supposed to make sure the bus was empty when she arrived at school. In fact, a special alarm goes off when the bus is parked that can only be turned off at the back, but she ignored it.
