The Other Watchmen
In an alternative history of the United States, this might have been the big screen adaptation of The Watchmen:

Loved this the first time I saw it. Especially the parts about Rorschach being friend to the animals and the Comedian trying to "get that kiss."
I thought this was pretty awesome until I saw the keytar. That put it over the top into pure WIN.
What's a keytar?
look at :50.
The show worked until they brought in Bubastis's mutant tiger cub Buba-doo to appeal to the Rainbow-Bright set.
I can't remember whether that was before or after season two, when Gwar stopped doing their guest spots.
I want a cartoon based on the great comic "Watchmen Babies in V for Vacation"
Seeing the above as a Saturday Morning cartoon adaptation may be worth it just to see Alan Moore's head spontaneously explode.

Great? Reason sounds more and more like a snake oil sales pitch.
What's a keytar?
I think the proper term is guitboard.
an amusing parody

The mutant tiger thingy talking like Cringer is pure gold.
Uh, I think the Comedian is the young Silk Spectre's father.
*shudder*
economist:
In the graphic novel (and movie)? Yes, yes he is.
Now, if you look closely, you might notice a subtle few other cases of things in the parody there that are reversed from the graphic novel.
Wait, this isn't dark and edgy at all!

That's "Watchmen Babies IN SPACE!"
Seriously, watching this clip left me speechless, and I'm not even a particular "Watchmen" fan (though I have a lot of respect for Moore, Gibbons, and their work as a team). Apart from being a wicked parody, this video has a thing of its own going on. Amazing.

Funny, because I just watched that episode of Simpsons tonight.
