What do you offer us to not prank the survey? I'm waiting.
More hotties and Ron Paul. Less Obama. More illegal substances at happy hours, or at least people who can't legally consume the substances that are presented.
Let me write Warren's:
1. More pillow girl.
2. More lobster girl.
oooooooo, a polllllllllllll.
Don't worry, Reason. I put those on my e-vites too and nobody responds to them seriously either.
Everyone please answer question 30, "What do you like least about Reason Online?" with the response, "DONDEROOOOOOOO!"
Dang it Fluffy, now I need to take it again.
I like DONDEROOOO!
He's a walking parody
Others irk me more
Fluffy:
I answered "joe", but only because he's always more informed than me. I HATE that, especially when I really believe what I'm saying.
...stupid facts muddling up my bias...
[kicks rock]
When this election is finally over, we're all going to get poled.
Please tell us a little bit about yourself and let us know what you like and don't like
How ironic coming from reason.
How ironic coming from reason.
Drink!
snorg tees girl
I went to Hit & Run and all I got was this stupid election.
OMG! I'm a...
Reason junkie!!
Why didn't any of you people tell me...
Oh right.
x,y
I use Firefox, so I don't even know when the pillow girl is around. But IIRC she's ugly skinny.
Of course more Lobster Girl! Who doesn't want more lobster girl?
Ahhhhh another comment fix
No love for Rational Responders Cop Girl. As it should be.
I'm wondering if the "Ron Paul = GOD" crowd is going to spam this poll...
WARREN! MORE LOBSTER GIRL, LESS CLOTHING, LESS LOBSTER.
I was going to say more snorg tee girls, but Bingo beat me to it. Oh well. MORE SNORG TEE GIRLS!
also for you statistic junkies: http://www.quantcast.com/reason.com
less females than average on the internet 🙁
Bingo -
On the contrary - I didn't realize there were that many females here (unless the overall internet average number for females is supremely low in comparison to males already)
I took the damned survey. I mentioned everyone of you in the things I don't like section. Except you joe. I mentioned you twice. 😉
Did you mention the sub tag?
More cowbell!
Holy crap I am now in the 36-45 age group!!!
Soon I will have gray hair and can rule you all!!
Let me write Warren's:
1. More pillow girl.
2. More lobster girl.
I could have put more lobster girl?!?!
Crap!
More haggis!
More batin'!
Actually, I don't subscribe to the print version anymore, but I get the online version from NewsStand (well, that wasn't an option in the poll). Good shit and screw the USPS. 🙂
I felt embarrassed to admit one of my favorite magazines is Entertainment Weekly.
I put "trolls" on 30 before the "DONDEROOOOOO" idea got out.
[waiting for the paranoids freaking out about the financials]
Rainbow. Puppy. Island.
Reinmoose, it actually looks like reason reflects the demographics of the internet a lot better than some sites.
Plug in pajamasmedia.com or nationalreview.com and see the grumpy old men tell you to get off their lawn hahaha.
also for you statistic junkies: http://www.quantcast.com/reason.com

Hmmm, I'm not sure I trust all those stats. Our single biggest ethnic group is ... African-Americans? Not Caucasians? I know there are African-American libertarians, but I was under the distinct impression that most most of our visitors were pasty mushroom-colored basement dwellers.
Have Radley hold journalism classes for all the other Reason writers to attend.
Re: Quantcast
Are the Ethnicity numbers right? I mean, if they are right.. awesome! But Hit n' Run, at least, has always seemed mighty whitey. Especially based on the meet-up pics I seen.
[Disclosure: I'm so white, I'm pink]
Stevo: that's percentages of vistors relative to their representation on the internet in general.
Damn you, Stevo!
Did you mention the sub tag?
[slaps head] Shit!
Can we have more payleeeooo's plz liek LewRockwull and PatBookanon?
Here';s what I don't like about reason:
Just as I was clicking the link to take the survey, a Dell ad link/ad popped up in its place. So instead of getting the survey I got a big Dell ad. Please knock this shit off.
Dude, you're getting a Dell!
Just as I was clicking the link to take the survey, a Dell ad link/ad popped up in its place. So instead of getting the survey I got a big Dell ad. Please knock this shit off.
I mentioned pop-up ads as well. That's like complaing to the networks about commercials. IOW, it will be ignored.
Uhh, if some of us weren't using shitty browsers, maybe some of us would not see pop-up.
Just sayin'
Anyone notice Reason online indexes around 130 for African American online readership?
In statistical terms, that probably means absolutely nothing (i dont know what the current penetration rate of internet access or behaviors of black Americans online are like)
But my guess = LoneWacko hates mexicans because they kicked his ass all the time while he grew up a poor, black child in south central LA.
It starts to make *a little* sense.
Ok, maybe not.
reminds me of that especially funny moment in Red VS Blue episode 54

I don't see any pop-ups on Reason. What are you people talking about? All I see is the new ad bar at the top, but that's not so bad.
To increase ad clickthrough all they need to do is replace every advertisement on Radley Balko's articles with a generic "Punch the cop/lawyer/judge and win a caboose!"-image. We'd probably kill the advertising server.

PWND!!
Seriously, I've never done that before, I just wanted to try it out.
"Uhh, if some of us weren't using shitty browsers, maybe some of us would not see pop-up.

I'm on a secured network in the executive suite of a milti-billion, Fortune 100 company. And yet, sometimes they just pop up.
Are you saying your browser eliminates all pop-up ads???
Please, this survey is, I don't know, about 5,000 questions TOO LONG!
Here's what you need to do to improve Reason: Get rid of Michael Young.
Andrew First -
I've never gotten them either at work or at home/my sister's home(different computer), and I use 2 different browsers.
Taktix @ 3:43-
I meant regarding privacy. I was not complaining. All the complaining went into the survey.
How many people on here actually subscribe to Vanity Fair?
"How many people on here actually subscribe to Vanity Fair?"
The magazine or the lifestyle?
Praise:
1. Dave Weigel's humor.
2. Radley Balko's reporting.
3. Jesse Walker's insight.
Complaints:
1. Too beholden to politically correct influences.
2. Neocon shills for the war (like Michael Young) on this site.
How many people on here actually subscribe to Vanity Fair?
I don't know how many people here subscribe to vanity fair.
Best thing about Reason?
Booger dicks! I get to say booger dicks to random strangers!
Worst thing about Reason?
Its coverage of the porn industry -- and tips for better orgasms -- is spotty at best.
Hey joe.
Booger dicks to you.
But seriously, folks ... Radley Balko is my hero. Kerry Howley is smokin'.
Keeps me comin' back for more. Every day.
I was referring to the link Bingo posted, which gave a high correlation to Reason visitors and subscribers of Vanity Fair (the magazine)

Wow.
Thats like, a parable or something.
Much like how the NYT is always 5 years behind basic cultural stuff, ("kids are doing something called 'downloading' which is increasingly popular"), big companies almost always are totally IT-retarded.
dude, try firefox maybe. Most people havent had to deal with fucking pop-ups since like 2001.

All that means dude is that characteristics of VF readers are most closely aligned to Reason readers. doesnt mean anything to anyone except direct-marketers who want to buy Banner ads or something.
I'd guess from the questionnaire options, that the most often-read magazines by Reason-readers would be either the Economist or the Atlantic.
my IT department at my company has effectively killed all popups and I use IE. I think they have magical powers.
oh, and Booger Dicks
Gilmore,
That's why I was asking, because I don't think theres much overlap between VF and Reason.
LIT, and I was being silly. I wasn't sure if you really did expect to get an answer to that question. FWIW, I am not a subscriber in Vanity Fair.
Needs more Urkobold?.
What's a popup? Am I missing out on something?
Oh, and speaking of paleeeos, I notice the Loo Rockwell has gotten into the conspiracy act. Several Kennedy assassination posts by him at LRC in the last couple of days. Screw Palmer's obsession with the neo-confederates, LRC conspiratoids are the real fever swamp!
Ali,
I guess its not something that most people would admit...
*Dons curmudgeon hat*
I have no sympathy-none-for folks who use IE and wonder why they get pop-ups, various sorts of malware, and the other crap endemic to that abortion of a browser.
*kicks pebble, looks lovingly at small stuffed penguin perched next to computer*
Well, I haven't seen the lobster girl, or the pillow girl, so I could complain about that.
Also, I was going to put Dondero as a complaint, but then I realized that I am entertained by him and more so by the put downs of him.
After Ron Paul did so poorly the only pleasure I have gotten from this election cycle has been seeing the people that Dondero supported crash and burn.
Also 'joe' is solid gold. If there weren't a 'joe', then reason would have to hire one. He makes the liberal arguments better than anyone I know. If you can successfully refute his points you are equipped to represent your cause in an argument.
Also from counters to Joe, I learn a lot. I am a better more understanding libertarian for reading retorts to joe.
""Worst thing about Reason?
Its coverage of the porn industry -- and tips for better orgasms -- is spotty at best.""
Damn, I should have mentioned that. They have been slacking in that regard lately. But it does tie into my main complaint 'lack of pictures in the articles'.
Firefox w/ the AdBlock Plus plugin.
You will never be bothered again (and website owners will hate you).
Kerry Howley is smokin'.
Keeps me comin' back for more. Every day.
Perv. That girl is but a teenager.
Yeah, you gotta love Joe. He's totally necessary. I like Joe the most on the days when I tell him to go fuck himself.
Reading this thread made me realize I didn't mention the high quality sense of humor possessed by H&R commenters. I really do mean that compliment. I lurk and occasionally post at other sites and none that I've found approach the comedy level displayed daily at this one.
But then, I'm not quite right...
Not to defend MicroDick, but if you turn your pop-up blocker up to high in IE, you won't see any; even the medium setting blocks most of them.
the high quality sense of humor possessed by H&R commenters.
I'll second that.
I got bored about six questions into the survey and bailed out.
I lurk and occasionally post at other sites and none that I've found approach the comedy level displayed daily at this one.
Mostly I come to see if Stevo won another thread. He's up to aleast a "Commando" level comedy kills at H&R.
"Democrat" is not the name of a political party.
I took the survey, and yes I did take it seriously. I don't know why, but being a Reson magazine subscriber for the past 10 years, as well as reading this site I figured why not.
My four biggest complaints about the website were...The friggin pop-up ad's. When did they start?? The second complaint was the treatment of other Libertarians. i.e Lew Rockwell,Justin Raimondo and such. The third, the Ugly Anti-Catholic comments that seem to come in every other post. I don't need to remind the "Reason" staff that alot of Libertarian ideas, like Natural Law and Private Property rights are taking from Saint Thomas Aquinas. And last but not least, my biggest complaint of them all is "Hit and Run" in the last few years has turned into some defacto Daily Kos, Mother Jones, and D.U site, all in one. The last time I checked, this is a LIBERTARIAN website. Not some state loving, rule following, We Love Obama website. And yes it has gotten worse since Matt Welch took over. Sorry Matt, I do enjoy your writing, but there is a bit of a Leftist bent to it.
Other than that, I love Reason. As long as our Man in Black , and Brian Doherty are here, as well as Kerry's bitching about what body part someone told her she couldn't sell or how poor migrant workers not being allowed into some country I have never heard of or no use for, I'm still going to be coming here, and reading the magazine. Thanks for hearing me out.
78 comments in seven minutes. Wow.
"Booger Dick" is not an Anti-Catholic comment.
Everyone please answer question 30, "What do you like least about Reason Online?" with the response, "DONDEROOOOOOOO!"
I said 'unmoderated comments', which I think is the same thing.
Question 30: Donderoooooooooooooooooo!!!
uh, why was this posted Feb 25th at 2;22 pm and yet has comments from February 20th?
There was no cock size question. How am I supposed to compare myself to Herrick?
Will these results be posted as an entry?
I reiterate my comment on the poll: Is there any way we can elect none of these guys? Even Ron Paul. Try no president for four years.
I didn't like the political party question. Although I'm a registered Republican, it makes me nauseous to say I "identify" with the party.
Semantics.
