Tonight's episode: "More Crap."

Randy becomes South Park's home-town hero when the guys down at the local bar see the size of his most recent crap. Randy contacts a society that keeps track of the world record, thinking his masterpiece would definitely be a contender.

    Bono!

  2. Hunter   19 years ago

Hah. A nice, bizarre tribute to The King of Kong. Anyone see that flick?

  3. Edward   19 years ago

Unfunniest and most dishonest show ever. Must be where the "Urkobolds" get their material. Fools.

  4. TLB   19 years ago

Does it turn out to be a relative of Mr. Hankey?

On an off-topic note, a couple days ago I uploaded this Ron Paul video and the low traffic count is quite interesting. For instance, a page that embeds the video has received almost as many hits as the total for the video, and there was traffic coming to it from other sources as well. And, the count was frozen for a few hours-long periods. And, it reached as high as #23 on today's most-linked list, then suddenly it didn't have any honors at all.

Maybe Reason could ask Youtube whether they have a Ron Paul handicap or something like that.

  5. Warty   19 years ago

The Emmy was a nice touch.

  6. The Wine Commonsewer   19 years ago

I have the world's record, which was set at Irvine Park when I was in 4th Grade. My cousins, John, Tim, and Randy can verify.

Get that? 4th Grade. It was very cool and funny in FOURTH GRADE!

  7. Kevin   19 years ago

    fucking elitists

  8. Syloson of Samos   19 years ago

I dunno, perhaps South Park is ready for retirement?

  9. JasonC   19 years ago

How about when The Wire comes back in a couple months, you put up one of these open threads? Probably will have a lot more interest for libertarians.

  10. Bob   19 years ago

"Unfunniest and most dishonest show ever. Must be where the "Urkobolds" get their material. Fools."

While I disagree with you on the subject of South Park, I do agree with the Urkobold statement. I don't think they have ever writtien anything funny, which is not surprising since they only really have one joke.

  11. PintofStout   19 years ago

It could have been a whole show to call Bono a piece of crap.

TWC, incidentally, the main characters of the show are (or were last I checked) in the fourth grade. Still, it mostly involved the adults of the show. Not the show's best outing, but not a total piece of crap.

  12. edna   19 years ago

sort of like the 9/11 episode. the main purpose of which was to see how many different ways they could say, "take a shit."

not that there's anything wrong with that....

  13. stubby   19 years ago

Haven't seen it yet, but it can't be any worse than the Oprah's butt and lady parts episode. Sometimes I think Matt and Trey are seriously sick of doing the show, but can't bring themselves to turn away the 18 wheelers stuffed with cash that Comedy Central sends them each year, so instead they keep going lower, and lower, and lower, and even lower, in the hope that Comedy Central will eventually say that's it, you're fired. But CC won't ever do it, cause people will keep watching, no matter what. And yes, that includes me.

  14. second cousin to a minion of V   19 years ago

since they only really have one joke

Yes, there is only one Urkobold. Your point?

  15. LI\'L URKOBOLD?   19 years ago

YOU CAN FOOL ALL THE URKOBOLDS? NONE OF THE TIME, YOU CAN NOT FOOL ALL THE URKOBOLDS? ALL OF THE TIME, BUT LI'L URKOBOLD? DROOL SOME OF THE TIME.

  16. BakedPenguin   19 years ago

stubby - substitute "The Simpsons" and "Fox" for "South Park" and "Comedy Central", too.

  17. The Wine Commonsewer   19 years ago

...incidentally, the main characters of the show are (or were last I checked) in the fourth grade.

    Pint.....LOL.

  18. The Wine Commonsewer   19 years ago

Man, I can barely concentrate on writing these witty posts while being stared at by those/that stunning babe in the various tee shirts.....

I had a friend who was literally found dead at his keyboard. Maybe that's why. No, I'm serious, the maintenance guy came in to change the batteries in the smoke detectors and there was Jim, dead at his keyboard. Kinda ruined his lunch. Well, Jim's too.

  19. The Wine Commonsewer   19 years ago

Oh yeah, Jim lived in NEW MEXICO. So, Neu Mexican had best be advised.

I am with TWC on this one. South Park is for people with dull wits.

  25. Dull Toast Man   19 years ago

South Park is for people with dull wits.

South Park and Reason are where we go to sharpen our wit. You didn't think joe got that mouth full of metal shavings at home, did you?

  26. Senator Craig   19 years ago

    For a magazine called reason...

    (Hydration facilitates elimination.)

  27. Fluffy   19 years ago

I don't think the episode is actually about taking a crap.

It's about the fact that South Park is an Emmy award winning show.

They made a purely scatological show just so they could put up that caption. The caption is the joke, not the show.

  28. edna   19 years ago

    Except that it's kinda gross.

    and your point is...?

    😉

  29. highnumber   19 years ago

    Urkobold? one joke?!

    - Monkey Tuesday
    - Sulu/Wayne Friday
    - Womby Vaultage
    - Mr Steven Crane
    - Oprah
    - Koko

    Obviously you don't know Urkobold?.
We clearly have at least a half dozen jokes that we drive in the ground.

  30. x,y   19 years ago

How about when The Wire comes back in a couple months, you put up one of these open threads? Probably will have a lot more interest for libertarians.

    Hear, hear.

  31. Episiarch   19 years ago

Hmm, this thread has a surprising amount of humor-impaired posters.

Shit and farts are funny, always have been, always will be. Anyone who denies this is just a douchebag with a stick up their ass. I have spoken.

  32. Mike Laursen   19 years ago

Man, I can barely concentrate on writing these witty posts while being stared at by those/that stunning babe in the various tee shirts.....

The babes seem to have vanished this morning. Replaced by ads so boring in comparison that my brain perceives them as mere gray shapes on the page.

  33. Jake Boone   19 years ago

I find URKOBOLD? very funny. And I'm not just saying that because I fear further taint-withering.

  34. Bubba Zanetti   19 years ago

I found Bono running through the African village pointing at the natives and singing "yeah yeah yeah" to be quite funny.

  35. B   19 years ago

    Fluffy nails it.

Even when they go out of their way to make a show that is (literally) pure shit, it's still pretty damn funny.

The rerun from last year about gay re-education that ran before it was much funnier though.

  36. Eric S.   19 years ago

Didn't any of you find all the parallels to childbirth at the very least amusing? Randy's response when he was told they would have to perform a C-section was priceless.

If you really thought the episode was one big fart joke, I can't help you.

  37. J sub D   19 years ago

Man, I can barely concentrate on writing these witty posts while being stared at by those/that stunning babe in the various tee shirts.....

Damn, TWC. You're having delusions again! She is obviously staring at me. Hungrily, I might add.

  38. Troy   19 years ago

Is there any way we could get the T-shirt girls to be added as the thread gets longer so that I could be staring at some titties right now?

  39. Number 6   19 years ago

Not the best episode. In fact, it may have been the lamest South Park I've ever seen.

  40. Randolph Carter   19 years ago

    Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

that was, by far, the funniest part.

  41. Minion of URKOBOLD   19 years ago

Unfunniest and most dishonest show ever. Must be where the "Urkobolds" get their material. Fools.

INCORRECT. WE GET OUR MATERIAL FROM SCRAMBLING BITS AND PIECES OF GRAFFITI SPOTTED ON INTERSTATE TRUCK STOP RESTROOMS.

AND BY THE WAY, EDWARDDDDD(ild)OOOOO, WHEN DID YOU CHANGE YOUR NUMBER. IT'S NOW A HARDWARE STORE, AND IT WAS NOT A GOOD TIME CALLING IT.

ALTHOUGH MY NEW TOOL BELT IS SUPPLE AND IT DOESN'T CHAFE.

  42. Tim   19 years ago

How OLD are you people? Jeezus, my nose is filling up with attic dust and the smell of cardigans.

South Park was, is and always will be pure genius. This episode depicts Bono as a literal piece of SHIT who suckles a European man-tit. For that alone they deserve a round of drinks.

  43. VM   19 years ago

    Tim:

This episode depicts Bono as a literal piece of SHIT who suckles a European man-tit.

for that YOU deserve a drink!!!!

(although I'd like to expand where that asshole suckles - to the "Friends" and "Dave Matthews", fad diet crowd, too - you know the ones - they take their cues for what's popular and make fun of "conformity")

but the Chicago crew owes you a bier for your insight!

  44. lunchstealer   19 years ago

It was pretty lame, although I thought Oprah was a little lamer, and maybe Chef Returns.

Matt and Trey talk about how most of their episodes are written with less than a week to air, so they may have just been out of ideas for the week, or extra hung-over, so the best they could do was an extended deuce joke.

Anyway, South Park has been trumped for the most-morally-repellent-and-freaking-hilarious trophy by It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It's un-bleeped, and features episodes like "The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby" and "Charlie Gets an Abortion".

  45. Balloon Maker   19 years ago

Yea, that dumpster baby episode was pretty hilarious.

They had an episode on their website where charlie watches too much Law and Order and starts carrying a tape recorder around with him yelling lawyer speak at people and singing the theme song as he exits rooms

  46. Dan   19 years ago

No no no, you're wrong. "Sunny" was amazing the first season, but now it's horrible. I think it jumped the shark when Danny De Vito joined the cast. Charlie Day is waaaaay over-acting now, and the rest of them ham it up too much. The latest episode was AWFUL, except for when they lit Dee on fire.

    South Park still rules.

  47. stubby   19 years ago

How OLD are you people? Jeezus, my nose is filling up with attic dust and the smell of cardigans.

And Tim deserves a second drink for that one.

I have to watch the episode now, to see if I am clever and abstract enough to see past the poo metaphor.

Yes, I said poo. I have a 5 year old and we're Dirty Jobs junkies.

  48. andrew   19 years ago

The episode is funnier if you have seen the documentary that it is a parody of. King of Kong Fistful of quarters is about the dueling the Donkey Kong world Champions.

  49. Neu Mejican   19 years ago

Oh yeah, Jim lived in NEW MEXICO. So, Neu Mexican had best be advised.

TWC, that's "MeJican" and thanks for thinking of me.

My NM dead at the keyboard story is a near miss story.

Friend renting office space from me in the back of my band's rehearsal space is sitting at his keyboard writing.

Leaves to go get some coffee.
    Comes back.
    Sits down.
Sees bullet lodged at eye level in the wall right above his monitor.

  50. Foxhunter   19 years ago

I agree that Bono running through the African village was the best part of the episode, but I also loved when Bono interrupted the awards ceremony at the capitol with the video showing all sorts of pictures of himself with his name in huge letters and announced that he had taken the largest crap in the world.

Talk about someone who is all about "me" in the worst sort of way...I'm glad they ripped on him good!
