The Houseless Painter
An Indian court has ordered painter Maqbool Fida Husain's home and other properties seized after he allegedly ignored a summons from the court that was trying him on charges of hurting religious feelings after he painted a naked woman in front of a wheel resembling the one in the Indian flag. Similar paintings of a clothed woman are used to portray Mother India in patriotic publications. Husain's lawyer says his client was unaware of any summons.
