Liquor Is Quicker, but Pot-Laced Candy Bars Will Get You 5+ Years in the Pokey
A drug dealer caught manufacturing joke candy spiked with marijuana agreed to a [70-month] jail term after pleading guilty, US justice officials in California said.
Kenneth Affolter, 39, admitted managing marijuana crops with the intention of manufacturing and distributing a range of potent candy and soft-drinks that parodied well-known brands.
US Federal Agents in March raided warehouses in Oakland and Emeryville registered to a company known as 'Beyond Bomb', and seized items with labels including 'Munchy Way', 'Pot Tarts', 'Puffsi' and 'Toka-Cola.'…
"While real candy may give you cavities, these individuals know that marijuana candy can get you jail time," stated Drug Enforcement Agency Special Agent in Charge Javier Pena.
Granted, I'm in favor of drug legalization, but I really think the DEA agent above should go to jail for that groaner. More here.

Skip the jail cell for the DEA guy and go straight to the 9th circle.

Are there any limits to human stupidity?

What a stupid question I just asked.
"While real candy may give you cavities, these individuals know that marijuana candy can get you jail time,"
The gall of this statement is unbelievable. The first substance he refers to (sugar) is widely accepted to directly cause harm (to teeth). However, the "harm" of marijuana is completely contrived by an outside factor (arbitrary drug laws) that this jackass so joyfully enforces.
Drug warriors are truly the scum of humanity.
Yet another implicit admission from the DEA that the worst thing about marijuana is that you could get arrested for using it. Has this risen to the level of "Official Position" yet?

anyhow, pot-laced candy could still give you cavities.
Well, it hardly compares to the old "If you don't want guns drawn, your infants handcuffed, and your dogs shot- Don't let pot users into your house."
Anonopotomous: Pretty much, they've commented that various medical marijuana rose the question of the validity of marijuana illegalization in general, and that is why they didn't support medical marijuana. It's fun to watch Waters squirm on the topic in the drug war episode of "Bullshit".
I've been in some of these California cannabis clubs and the cannabis products like candybars and soft drinks they sell invariably suck. Smart(?) marijuana "patients" know to avoid these gimmicks and just light up like the good Lord intended. First, smoke the weed, then, eat a regular candybar. Then, drink somemore beer, then, smoke somemore weed...what were we talking about?

Um... do you mean they taste bad? Because I could deal with that.
Drug warriors are truly the scum of humanity.
Have to agree. It would be nice to send them to Iraq and have them fight insurgents instead of the Amry. As long as no innocent civilians die, it's win/win.
Oh wait... they're drug warriors. Of course innocent civilians will die.
calling drug warriors "the scum of the earth" is unfairly insulting...to scum.
And speaking of Iraq, why are we surprised that the government has forgotten the lessons of prohibition when they can't even remember the lessons of Viet Nam?
