Your Money's No Good Here
Western Union officials say government guidelines have forced them to delay or block entirely money transfers simply because the recipients have names common among Muslims, such as Mohammad. According to the Associated Press, Western Union blocks names that even partially match names on a U.S. list of terrorists. One company executive told the AP about 1 percent of his office's money transfers have been delayed or blocked because of suspected terrorist links. Thus far, he said, all have proven false.
