Two New Blogs
Wired magazine has launched a new Web log that seems to focus on technology, privacy, and homeland security issues, with the Brazil-inspired title 27B Stroke 6. The Cato Institute, meanwhile, unveils Cato @ Liberty—a title in which I sense the influence of resident punmeister Tom Palmer. Also at Cato, coinciding with the release of their new paper on Bush and the Constitution (praised, in a "cats and dogs living together" moment, by Bob Herbert this weekend), is a Cato Unbound forum on the chances for a small-government resurgence in the GOP.

I'm not seeing the pun. Please elaborate for the slow-witted.
jp,
It's a blog discussing liberty/freedom/libertarian issues.
It's a blog (where people are at liberty to discuss whatever they want).
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes.
Thanks

That's the funniest shit I've heard in a long while. Thanks for the laugh.

Ugh, please try to refrain from using such offensive language around here... I mean really, "lol" has no place in polite discussion. 🙂
That aside, you can bet there will indeed be a small-government resurgence in the GOP just as soon as they lose power. Further, you can predict with a high degree of confidence that such resurgence will last precisely as long as their absence from power.
Fie! If you blog without comments, you're talking to yourself.
Warren, sometimes even if you enable comments, you're talking to yourself.

I cautiously agree. Very cautiously. But if you think I'm running back to he Repubs after they loser power, think again. I'd much prefer to give Libertarians a chance to find the value in Big Government(tm) by coming into power.
GOPsucksthebigone
Should be "Bush sucks the big one" cuz there are a significant number of small government Republicans and they need to be encouraged.

That's too pessimistic. There was some progress under Reagan. Spending in some areas actually shrank and the Federal register of all federal regulations actually shrank as well.
Cuz I love individual liberty including capitalism, I despise the Bush administration.
BTW the name of the web site of Liberty magazine is "Liberty Unbound" Cool huh?

It's wonderful stuff.

LOL! Or worse! One time on this, the best blog in the whole damn sphere, someone turned me on to the fact that I was debating a "bot". Ya know, an AI construct that someone let loose on us!
"...the chances for a small-government resurgence in the GOP"
Probably quite good but *only* if/when the Democrats take over congress.

And at the point, what good is it.

"Resurgence" indicates that the GOP once believed in small government.
