The number of parking tickets handed by Buffalo, New York, police has nearly quadrupled under a new "zero tolerance" policy—a policy The Buffalo News reports is prompted by police anger over lack of wage increase since 2003. But the News found one place the policy isn't enforced: police headquarters. The News says it found numerous vehicles there double parked or blocking fire hydrants or parked in other off-limits areas. The News found many of those vehicles were the private cars of government workers, including police officers, or carried law enforcement stickers. When informed of those findings, Robert Meegan, president of the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association, said "I guess we'll have to check The Buffalo News."
