Excruciatingly Pointless Media Catfight of the Day
Hugh Hewitt vs. CBSNews.com. It starts with Hewitt crying foul about a lack of conservative representation on this list, and somehow manages to degenerate from that low perch. My favorite laugh line from double-H:
Invite me to be part of the 60 Minutes team or to do commentary on the new evening news. Then CBS will start to repair a reputation for intellectual dishonesty as deserved as it is deep.

For a second you had me thinking Hewitt was actually suing CBS. Oh, for the entertainment value of that!
The only way to overcome your reputation for dishonesty is to give me a job.
Boss! People are starting to question our fairness, because some of our reporting shows a political angle!
What!?! For God's sake, get Hugh Hewitt in here right away!
Geez, Hugh...could you take yourself a little more seriously?
Why in the world would anybody want to read a blog by a mainstream journalist? It's like going to a brewpub and ordering a Coors.
Jesus, I wonder if Hewitt is so far gone into his own special world that he was able to type that with a straight face himself.
Hewitt's blog accepts to publicly viewable comments. Yeah, this guy really "[Understands] the Information Reformation That's Changing Your World" (title of his own book). A blogger who is too pussy-pants to accept rowdy comments and allow truly unfettered debate is no better than the worst of Hewitt's "MSM" (mainstream media).
Rock on, H&R!
D'oh!
That should be "accepts NO publicly viewable comments"
Julian,
I think the suprising thing is that CBS did not take him up on the offer.

He didn't say overcome, he said repair. I'm not sure why anyone would want a perfect reputation for intellectual dishonesty, but that's the offer. Tempting.
I'm open to the idea that Hugh Hewitt is an elaborate parody. The name just doesn't sound real, like "Charles Krauthammer". And his portrayal of the reality-challenged Bush knobgobbler is perfect. A little too perfect.
In my experience, conservative blogs allow comments less often than lefty sites.
They have different purposes. Right blogs are a top-down talking point distribution system. A small, low cog in the mighty spin machine.
Left blogs, on the other hand, are where people go to mewl about the Chimperor, Chimpy McFlightsuit, and so on, because they can't get their act together and beat these guys. I mean, you can't make hay out of Bush and Delay and Frist? How lame are you?
Wow, that's right out of the Jesse Jackson "cough up a donation to my nonprofit or your company will be officially racist" school of persuasion.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I don't have comments because I don't want to deal with yet another set of comment spam. I still deal with all that crap at my former home because nobody else will, and I really don't want to bother on yet another site.
Timothy - Sudsy wants you!
Somebody needs to put together the definitive list of Bush name-calling.
Personally, I tend to use Chimpy McHitlerburton. The Chimpler for short.
Timothy - Why expose your personal life? Nice blog, here's a link to mine! Get Vi@gra cheep and leg@l!

He's a pretty old parody then; I remember hearing about him back in the 1990s.
After daring to cast my eyes on his pasty visage last night on Lehrer's PBS show, my retinas still burn from the glare of His Whiteness. Not racially or anything, but goddamn if that guy doesn't have the whitest matched set of hair and teeth I've ever seen.
On point, though, I agree with Jennifer and B.P. I got the classic cut-and-paste ransom note image in my head when I read the email: GiVE mE a JOb oR YOUr jOurnaLIsTIC IntEGRitY DiES (not ThAT You HAD aNy).
Off-topic alert:
Maybe Chuck Schumer could get some advice from Indonesia's govt re: setting gas prices...

I go with "Shrub." Chimp/ape comparisons have been applied to African Americans during Jim Crow, the Irish during British Imperialism, and Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War. I really don't want think Bush warrants such esteemed company.
joe,
But you're willing to take such a dump on that noble kingdom whose photosynthesis sustains us all? Communist.
