If Grandma Gets Relief, Junior Will Get High
Contrary to the warnings of drug warriors who said legalizing marijuana for medical purposes would "send the wrong message" to teenagers, a new report from the Marijuana Policy Project finds that adolescent pot smoking has declined in every state that permits patients to use cannabis. In fact, marijuana use by minors went down more in those states than in the nation as a whole. Hard as it is to believe, it would appear that promoting marijuana as a medicine for cancer and AIDS patients did not make it seem cooler to teenagers.

"Hard as it is to believe, it would appear that promoting marijuana as a medicine for cancer and AIDS patients did not make it seem cooler to teenagers."
Great line. It's the same strategy that the TRuth.com people are using against tobacco.
In fact, marijuana use by minors went down more in those states than in the nation as a whole.
Of course, the drug warriors won't see it that way, they'll claim that the total reduction to teen pot use is due to their jack-booted efforts, and nothing else. Of course, to strike the final blow and make sure our good, clean, lilly-white, Christian teens stay off the devil weed is even MORE prohibition. It's the only way to be sure...
Holy crap! Kevin Zeese's next ad sould read "Stay the Course!"
That would really put a bug in the Drug Warriors' butt.
I wonder if the trend might reflect that current users are getting prescriptions to defend themselves and then channeling their excess herbage to medical dispensaries for a little extra cash or other reasons. Thus, reducing the supply that actually goes to the street for teen use.
I know in some parts of California, patients and care givers are growing what they need and sending the extra to the dispensaries. Where as in the past, it was all illegal so grow for yourself and for buddies who then sold it to whomever.
Just a thought.
I guess this once and for all proves the addage:
"Post hoc, ergo propter hoc".
Bank on it!
YES! Now, we have to legalize it for medicinal use everywhere -- for the children!
Dude, this is so obvious even a retarded kindergartner or a DEA agent could understand it.
If grandma is allowed to smoke a joint, then smoking a joint *cannot possibly* make you a bad-ass.
Think about the other things that grandma does:
-Wearing diapers? Not bad-ass.
-Using a walker? Not bad-ass.
-Listening to Lawrence Welk? Not bad-ass.
-Playing Mah-Jongg? Not bad-ass.
you get the idea.
only grandma can stop us from becoming a nation of dope heads...by toking up herself.
You guys have it all wrong. Marijuana is a gateway drug. If grandma starts using it, soon she'll be shooting black tar heroin. Everybody knows that! Then we'll have gangs of drugged up grandmas knocking over 7-11s to get money to finance their filthy drug habits. From there it's motorcycle gangs and prostitution.
Do you really want to see granny turning tricks on the street for crack? Didn't think so. Just say "no" to pot!
This message brought to you by the hysterics at the DEA.
