Now, eight years later, Mr. Klein's case has made it to the highest court in Europe, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.

Can't say I can defend Slovakia on this one, but an extra-national court deciding the case? Eww.

  2. Ayn_Randian   21 years ago

Klein is a jackass, for one reason.

Mr. Klein would rather not become a political club. Mr. Lipsic, he said, "is using me to smash a law he doesn't like."

Klein thinks that hate speech laws are perfectly fine and justifiable based on occurences over 60 years ago, but that "it was merely misapplied in my case". Jerk. Basically, free speech for me but not for thee. Maybe if the guy had some principles instead of just being an all-around asshole, I would have some sympathy (although I am sympathetic on principled grounds, but still...).

"The dimwits who said my article had nothing to do with free speech will now have to shut up or say sorry."

The irony seems too obvious to be an accident.

Lost his job at Radio Free Europe? Isn't that an American organization created to spread American values, especially free speech? WTF!

  5. Haegar   21 years ago

    What Randian said!

That "Slovakian Martyr of Free Speech" is really an egegious fool as well as a hypocrit, and a lout to boot. What a wanker! (pretty much like "le grand Larry Flynt luis-meme", come to think of it)
