Kudos to a Former Reasoner
The Los Angeles Press Club's 47th Annual Southern California Journalism Awards will be presented tomorrow night.
Reason is well represented among the finalists this year (we did OK last year, too).
But here's hoping that former Reason staff reporter Mariel Garza, now at the excellent Los Angeles Daily News, takes home the top prize in the columnist category. She's up against some stiff competition (LA Times' Steve Lopez and Tim Rutten, and LA Weekly's John Powers) but her News work certainly merits all the recognition it gets and then some.
