It's not quite Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds. Or even Pocahontas, Marlon Brando & Neil Young. And certainly not Mother, Juggs, & Speed.

But I'll be on The O'Reilly Factor tonight, circa 8:40PM ET, to discuss my thumbs-up review of Jane Fonda's memoir, My Life So Far. (La Fonda, no doubt rolling around on top of the $23 million her new J. Lo-enhanced movie, Monster-in-Law pulled in last weekend, will only be there in spirit.)

There is nothing about Jane Fonda that deserves a thumbs up. I am among the frothing masses of Fonda haters that wouldn't give you a nickel for a whole bag full of Jane Fondas.

Ever notice that every baby boomer icon is about a decade older than the generation they claimed to speak for? From Fonda, to her ex-hubby, to Hoffman, to Savio, in every case it was an older somewhat charismatic "leader" leading the throngs of baby boomers around by the schnoz.

That speaks volumes about the "movement", the hippies, us boomers, and the so-called leadership themselves.

I have a funny feeling that kool-aid abstainers give O'Reilly the time of day out of some combination of morbid curiosity, the chance for a good war story, and increased exposure.

Unfortunately theres not much in watching you made ridiculous that benefits people who already respect your opinion.

But, if you're going to do it, my advice? I might have a smidgen of fun watching Mr. Mxyzptlk defend Hanoi Jane to Bill O'Reilly.

"The most serious accusations in the piece quoted above, that Fonda turned over slips of paper furtively given her by American POWs to the North Vietnamese and that several POWs were beaten to death as a result, are untrue. Those named in the inflammatory e-mail categorically deny the events they supposedly were part of.

"It's a figment of somebody's imagination," says Ret. Col. Larry Carrigan, one of the servicemen mentioned in the 'slips of paper' incident. Carrigan was shot down over North Vietnam in 1967 and did spend time in a POW camp. He has no idea why the story was attributed to him, saying, "I never met Jane Fonda."

The truth is that most of this never happened. This is a hoax story placed on the internet by unknown Fonda haters. No one knows who initiated the story. Please assist by not propagating the story. Fonda did enough bad things to assure her a correct place in the garbage dumps of history. We don't want to be party to false stories, which could be used as an excuse that her real actions didn't really happen either. I have spoken with all the parties named: Carrigan, Driscoll, et al. They all state that this particular internet story is a hoax and they wish to disassociate their names from the false story.
