Via Sploid comes a story in which an Oklahoma priest enthuses thusly about the new pope:

"He's going to have a German mentality of leadership: Either get on the train or get off the track."

Whole thing here.

  4. fyodor   20 years ago

It could have been worse. How about: "Get on the train or BANG, a bullet in your head!"

    Just kidding.

  5. Akira MacKenzie   20 years ago

"It could have been worse. How about: 'Get on the train or BANG, a bullet in your head!'"

Or... Get on the train AND get a free shower.

    Mutti, I smell peaches.

  6. Stevo Darkly   20 years ago

I hope this pope doesn't get stuck with the nickname of "Boxcar Benny."

  9. Franklin Harris   20 years ago

Here's to hoping the new pope doesn't tell randy priests to go take cold showers, then.

Yeah, it was Mussolini who kept the trains on schedule

Italian train engineers still apologize when the trains are late. I was just there 3 weeks ago, and at every other stop they'd say "we baig'a you pah'don, thee tren eeza two meenots a'late a." Scary. The Metro drivers in DC don't give a rats ass if they're two HOURS late.

His grand daughter is a hot piece of ass though. I'd vote for her.

According to Jon Stewart, the scandal with Ratzinger isn't that he was in the Hitler Youth. It's that he might have been in it for the youths.

  13. The Bastard   20 years ago

There is something inherently wrong with a German saying "get on the train"
