Every Man a Press Baron
Frequent Hit & Run commenter Kevin Carson now has his own blog.
Update: And look! Fellow commenter "TWC," a.k.a. Mike Snell, has just launched a new blog too.

My favorite Kevin Carson quote:
"And on the subject of the Million Mom March, I have this lovely vision of a million burnt-out, twisted wrecks of SUVs, and in each of them an incinerated busybody with several melted soccer balls and a cell phone fused into her charred skeleton." --Kevin Carson
I sometimes have difficulty distinguishing between the enemy and the battlefield myself.
So how much do I have to donate to the Reason Foundation to get a shout out for my blog?

A turkey at Thanksgiving and free tickets to the next Haggard concert. Or just post a lot of thoughtful and/or entertaining comments.
Ahh, the resident Georgist gets his own blog!
I just hope his doesn't pretend to own the land on which his computer is sitting ...

I meant to tell you that there's no way "A Fistful of Dollars" is that low in 1964.
Stop smoking the wacky cracky.
Yeah, stick to the, uh, regular crack.
"I just hope his doesn't pretend to own the land on which his computer is sitting ..." I know the answer to this one! According to a mutualist like Kevin, the fact that he lives or works or types on a piece of land is the ONLY rightful way to define its ownership.
"the fact that he lives or works or types on a piece of land is the ONLY rightful way to define its ownership."
But, joe! He's preventing other people from using the land every minute he isn't occupying it! He's extracting rent. RENT!!!!
I don't remember Lonewhacko getting a shout-out, and he's been promoting himself on here for years. (Note: Please don't give Lonewhacko a shout-out)
Gee, I have my own blog, too. Just haven't written anything on it yet.
Doug, how is that rent?
Is there some libertoid definition of rent you're not telling me about?
B.P.
Lonewacko got a bitchslap from somebody a while ago for constantly linking to his blog and not buying an ad at reason.com.
joe:
You don't speak fluent Geo-libertarianese, I see. Rent is extracted from everyone else that would demand the use of the same plot of land you want to use by way of the increasing value of your land. It is rent by exclusive use, or some such.
I'm telling you, for anyone who thought objectivists speak in code and seem a bit cultish, the Georgist/Geolibertarian/Mutualist is something to behold.
i dunno...the randians have a whackjob cult of personality and a bunch of really bigass books to toss about.
free market anarchist types tend to be far more fun at parties and bars, also.
Jason: The mutualists and the Georgists are separate tribes. Also, I think Kevin is more moderate than some mutualists on the land question, since he did confess, on a list we're both on, that he doesn't think you give up title to your property if you engage in crop rotation...

Well, that's good to know!
"Jason: the mutualists and the Georgists are separate tribes."
Egad! The Georgists I am familiar with. The mutualists seem to use the same code words, so I just assumed. You mean I'm going to have to learn yet another set of definitions for words I thought I already understood!?
Hypothesis: Libertarianism on the web is like porn on the web - no matter what kind of freaky stuff you are into, there is a named group out there for you that speaks their own language just looking for new initiates.
And to think, I get accused of living in dark corners of the web because I hang out on H&R!
I think right libertarians could probably benefit by reading some of the stuff on Mutualist.org and now KC's new blog. I know I have.
Jesse, I appreciate the plug. Come on by for a glass of the red. Just don't put your feet on the glass coffee table without taking your boots off.
Seriously, I do appreciate you guys mentioning my efforts.
"Is there some libertoid definition of rent you're not telling me about?"
Hey, you follow your thread, I'll follow mine.
I guess this would be a reasonably appropriate/ inoffensive place to invite you to check out the Peaceful Anarchist group I'm trying to get going on Google.
I know an anarchist group is close to an oxymoron.
If for no other reason to check it, it's interesting to see what ads are automatically generated by key words in comments.
I think you'll get it by clicking on my e-mail address.
Kevin's site is excellent so that bodes well for his blog. It just has a bad subtitle.
TWC, kudos to you!
Ruthless:

I don't think so. Not even an anarchist party seems oxymoronic to me if its purpose is to abolish government.
"I think Kevin is more moderate than some mutualists on the land question"
Holy crap!
I've had a blog as long as I've posted at HitNRun, and of course never got a shout-out. I suspect that money or some other valuable consideration has changed hands. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
