Dubya, Duke of Lizards
As a Phishhead-in-a-former-life, I just want to note an odd coincidence on The Corner today. In one post, Jonah Goldberg suggests that the president simply read the bizarro lyrics to the band's classic "Fee" as his inaugural address. In another, he notes the resemblance between our current dear leader and Woodrow Wilson.
And what (you may wonder) have those two things got to do with each other? Well, as hippie-gathering-places go, one seldom saw political T-shirts at Phish shows, but at the band's very last show there was one sort of popular one: It showed George W. Bush's head wearing a crown and bore the legend "W. is for Wilson." I'd assumed it was a reference to the evil king of Gamehenge, but who knows, maybe there are lots of history-buff hippies out there making a subtle critique by analogy.

ANOTHER FUCKING LINK TO NRO!?
That's it! I'm collecting trunk trophies.
Pay attention to me! Just because Webster's placed my portrait next to the entry for "legacy hire" doesn't mean I'm not cool! Just to prove it, I'll make a pop culture reference to something from the early 90s! Phish! The Simpsons! Man, Milli Vanilli is wack! Pay attention to me!
Julian is a legacy hire?
No, Goldberg, spawn of Lucianne.
Oh!
Milli Vanilli--That's below the belt!
I look at NRO and sometimes I think William F. Buckley must be spinning in his grave.
What comparison comes next? William Bennett as Icculus, writing "The Helping Friendly Book of Virtues"?

(Monty Python voice): Not quite dead yet, sir!
Doesn't commentary on something so obscure only double the obscurity?
Slow day I suppose.
Phish, yuk. The only thing sloppier than their attire was their playing.
I think he should read the lyrics to Cocaine Blues instead.
Sweet that the lyrics site you link to tries to install 3 different pieces of spyware.
