Decisions of the Undecided: Part XXIII

|

Another person who hadn't made up his mind when we conducted our presidential poll has now come out for Kerry. Jude Wanniski, take a bow.

As with Andrew Sullivan, Wanniski's decision does not come as a surprise.

  1. You were really expecting this? I thought he wouldn’t vote at all.

  2. Jude has created some odd alliances over the years (Jerry Brown? Louis Farrahkan?).

  3. You were really expecting this?

Well, he hasn’t seemed interested in any of the third-party candidates this time, and he’s got an obvious antipathy to Bush, and he doesn’t seem like the sort of guy who stays home … so yes, I was expecting it. Frankly, I was surprised he didn’t endorse Kerry outright when Reason polled him.

  4. A name from the past! Called “the maniacal self-promoter Jude Wanniski” in a sort of Homeric epithet by the WSJ, as I recall, in recognition of his career arc after working there. How’s gold doing? A friend to every dictator as well. Kerry is perfect for him.

  5. Ron Hardin,

Well, if Bush loses November 2nd, then its he will have the career arc like Jude. Also, are you suggesting that (a) Kerry is a gold bug, and that (b) Kerry and Bush are really all that different when it comes to supporting or currying the favor of dictators when its convenient to them? Because the former isn’t true, whereas, with regard to the latter, I doubt that there is very little practical difference between who and who they will not deal with.

  6. “You were really expecting this? I thought he wouldn’t vote at all.”

He was threatened with banishment if he didn’t vote for either a giant doosh or a turd sandwich.

  7. Akria MacKenzie,

I love how you so accurately describe Bush and Kerry; or is that Kerry and Bush? 🙂

  8. Anybody else get the feeling, as these prviously undecided journalists break for Kerry that they were never all that undecided to begin with? That maybe it was an act, a veneer of impartiality?

  9. Wasn’t “Kolchak: The Night Stalker” based on this guy’s life story?

  10. Guy expressed my view. The “Grand Announcements” are not so interesting.

  11. “Anybody else get the feeling, as these prviously undecided journalists break for Kerry that they were never all that undecided to begin with? That maybe it was an act, a veneer of impartiality?”

Actually, it was the messages being beamed to the chips in their heads.

    Talk about the Paranoid Style!

  12. “I love how you so accurately describe Bush and Kerry; or is that Kerry and Bush? :)”

I give all credit to Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
