Please Just Don't Be So Obvious

While handing out Reason's press credentials today, a Periodicals Press Gallery staffer said

"Oh, and if you can, well, we're asking that reporters don't, you know, wear political pins and slogans in the convention center." (Quotes are inexact, etc.)

"Um, why?" I asked. "Were you having some problems?"

"Well, we just want to avoid some of the issues that cropped up in Boston. So, you know, no 'Kerry/Edwards '04' pins, that kind of thing. Trying to maintain professional standards and all that."
