Michael Moore Roped Off

France's favorite documentarian actually entered Madison Square Garden, on a USA Today press pass, according to Julian Sanchez, who witnessed his arrival into the arena. Security personnel had a 15-minute negotiation with Captain Fahrenheit, and finally agreed to let him through Gate 77, near Section 229, which was promptly roped off on both sides in an apparent quarantine action.

Ironically, Moore will soon be the target of hostile, embargoed remarks by a popular national politician whose name begins with "John" and ends with "McCain."

[The choice of going to war in Iraq] was between war and a graver threat. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Not our critics abroad. Not our political opponents.

And certainly not a disingenuous film maker who would have us believe that Saddam's Iraq was an oasis of peace when in fact it was a place of indescribable cruelty […]

UPDATE: I just watched him exit the building, just after the McCain speech, accompanied by 20 pushy guys with earpieces who contained in muscle mass what Moore does in flesh. He seemed amused enough.

"Who's that dude?" asked a youngish female to her male College Republican-type delegate friend.

"That's Michael Moore," he explained, helpfully. "He's that asshole guy."
