Donald Rumsfeld stinks.
Just cool the anti-war and anti-Patriot act stuff or you guys are going to have much worse things to worry about than server problems.
A.G. Ashcroft
Watch it, Ken Shultz. According to our profiling software developed by Mr. Poindexter, people who say things like that are 752% more likely to be a terrorist. What about you Shultz?
Secretary Rumsfeld has ways of making you talk which are not very pleasant and that have been field tested on thousands of screaming Iraqis.
Always remember two things: 1) If you're not with us, you're against us. 2) When victory over terror is the goal, the means is always justified.

Using Netscape 6.2 and going to reason.com/hitandrun the page comes up OK at first. However, as soon as the blogads load, they cover the whole page. No problem when viewing individual entries.
Say. I'm currently getting a lot of traffic from davidicke.com. Yes! The Masonic Lizards Run The World guy.
Could Reason readers come over and balance out the lizardian traffic?
Oh yeah, and a third thing: There will never be a final victory in the war on terror.

Half assed attempts at humor aside, can you guys maybe look into a blog system that isn't slower than mollasses?
Ya know, I use MT and ever since I switched from Berkeley DB to MySQL I've noticed that posting and rebuilding takes forever. I hate Perl so I don't really want to see what's going on, but MySQL shouldn't take so long. Either they're doing lots and lots of stuff or they have some unoptimized SQL code. Perhaps Reason has a similar problem.
We're using Berkeley DB. I thought converting to MySQL would speed things up (our files are massive), but maybe it's not worth it given your experience. Thanks for the warning. The mt comment script is a big part of what's loading down our server and spam comments on old entries are a likely culprit. A few attempted fixes are in the works.
Free Speach! How liberating. But who will protect the CHILDREN?
No! No! Bad libertarians! Free speach causes free thinging and free actions. Then the SuperState(c)(rm)(tm)(patent pend.) wouldn't be needed! Oh Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Smile 🙂
Fair warning: impersonating a member of the Department of Justice is now a detainable offense under the PATRIOT Act.
(And no, I will not divulge where that is located in the law. That part is confidential.)
How freely can we really speak, when the digital divide gives some commenters better access than others?

I guess then I should get rid of that steaming pile of dogshit in my front yard before someone mistakes it for Ashcroft.
Ugh, just bite the bullet and start using SQL Server already.
