Disconnect 'dem Cambone

Yeah, it's Sid Blumenthal, but somewhere he came up with this great quote to reflect the uniformed military's disgust with Pentagon civilians like undersecretary of intelligence Stephen Cambone:

"If we were being overrun by the enemy and I had only one bullet left, I'd use it on Cambone."

Blumenthal attributes this sentiment to an unnamed three-star general. Such bad blood surely helped prompt President Bush's decision to go to the Army War College, before an audience of officers, to specifically defend the military's decision to do something other than level Fallujah.

In sum, the White House is trying to mend fences with the officer corps.
