Should We Stay or Should We Go Now?
According to a new Gallup poll, about 70 percent of Iraqis said they'd be in danger if they were seen cooperating with occupation forces and about 64 percent said coalition actions are going worse than they expected when the invasion started. Fifty-seven percent wanted troops out quickly (within the next few months), while 36 percent wanted them to stay longer than that.
In the US, a CBS/New York Times poll has 52 percent disapproving of how Bush is handling Iraq, up from 43 percent in mid-March. Bush's unfavorable rating in general is now 43 percent, up from 39 percent in mid-March. Kerry's is 33 percent, up from 29 percent.

Don't trust polls taken in US. Really don't trust ones taken in Iraq.
Nevertheless, I say again: both conventions this summer will choose someone OTHER THAN the presumptive nominees.
Which little-known General from Dogpatch will lead the US straight to the rear?

I have it on good authority that he didn't carry a state.
Jesse Walker,
Don't get "Evil-Eye Fleagle" stirred up.
Footnote: Jubilation T. Cornpone got more votes than Wesley Clark and Ralph Nader combined.
The entire world is hyperventilating about pictures of Iraqi prisoners being sexually humiliated by US troops- but you wouldn't know it from Hit and Run.
Every OTHER piece of Iraqi trivia gets it's own headline, but for some reason you guys are awfully silent on this particular topic.
Granted, this isn't as important as some gun-control "study" in some paper no one reads, but maybe you guys could mention it at some point.
Nick -
I think Bush deserves utter defeat in November for countless reasons. That said, you're cherry-picking the poll results here. For example, the poll you cited also demostrates (a) that Iraqis hold a better opinion of the US than any other Arab country, (b) that Iraqis hold a higher opinion of Bush than of Putin or Chirac, and (c) that most Iraqis consider the war worthwhile.
I am doing a report on Iraq. Me and my group are trying to explain why we should stay in iraq. What are the positive and negative point of views towards this question? Please e-mail me with info about why we should stay in Iraq.
Sincerally,
Adrienne
