Chuck Feund rarely disappoints, and this is another obvious gem.

    Mr. Freund,

An absolutely fascinating article; I much appreciate it.

  3. Dan   21 years ago

    Yes, a very good article.

    THE ARTICLE SUCKS!!!!

No, actually it's very good, but I hate being like everyone else!!!

  5. brian   21 years ago

yes a good article but one there's one little problem: "War photographers (who, like war reporters, were actually in uniform) often had to send their unexposed rolls of film to the Pentagon for processing."

Processing UNexposed rolls of film yields nothing but blank film - no pictures having been taken.

    end of nitpick......

If I volunteered to serve my country by going half-way across the globe and putting my life at risk while living in horrible conditions for low-pay... and I was brutally killed by our nations enemies while doing so... I cannot imagine that I would want my family to view images of my mangled corpse on television, in newspapers, or in magazines.

Irrespective of geo-political realities, death is an intensely personal experience.
