Speaking of appeasing terrorists, does it mean anything that Spain--recently reviled for wussing out when it came to the War on Terror--seems to be cracking the whip pretty hard on Islamist killers?

Probably not to the terrorists. Why wouldn't they figure that if they can bring down one government, they can bring down another?
Has France surrendered yet?
Considering that "Muslim countries" extend to the Pyrenees and the gates of Vienna in OBL's sick mind, that's not much of a deal.
I think this is good news.
Who offers negotiations unless they're on the ropes?
I'd say it's time to really lean on all mullahs spouting hate!
umm, in Bin Laden's mind, the entire world is "Muslim countries." There is no negotiation with terrorists.

On a related note; has the US banned sex yet? š
JB,
Left out the important part:
Chirac through back channels made it clear what he meant was no public deals. He made it clear that private deals were still possible if the price was right.
In response to the offer, Chirac had this to say:
"No dealings are possible with terrorists."
