F*ck Face vs. Femme Boy
Over at Spinsanity in simultaneous reviews of one another's books, Al Franken calls National Review's Rich Lowry a girlie-man and Rich Lowry calls Al Franken a foul-mouthed blowhard. Then the editors of Spinsanity dish, and Lowry gets a final word in at his mag's Web site.
Educational and maybe even fun in a sort of Zoom-like way, but if this is the sort of thing we'll be filling our days with when we can live to 200, then color me Dee Dee.

Didn't bother to read it because one thing's for sure. If Al Franken is involved, in won't be funny.
Al Franken was funny, once, I think in the late 70s.
Ouch. Not a good day for Lowry.
Tackling people at campaign rallies... challenging writers to fistfights... when did Al Franken decide he's a bruiser?
I'm very disappointed- I thought this was going to be about Billy Ripkin.

What the heck is Nick Saying ?
"Al Franken was funny, once, I think in the late 70s."
My son watches re-runs of "classic" SNL and asks "Where can I get whatever you guys were taking that you thought this shit was funny?"
I don't watch re-runs of "classic" SNL, too many of the illusions of my youth have been shattered already.
ok, this is totally off topic but i can't email from here:

read it and weep
Franken reads like Erma Bombeck with an ax to grind.
I've never read anything by either of them before. After today, I never will again.
For what it's worth, Lowry isn't supposed to be funny becuase he isn't a professional comedian - he's a political writer, and he's a conservative Republican. So when you read him, you know what side he'll be arguing for, but laughs are not why he's there. Franken, on the other hand - I KNOW I laughed at him, more than once, years ago, and I've smoked very little pot (and never while watching TV), so I have to assume it's the new Liberal Pundit mantle he's sewn himself. Some polipundits are funny, but I've never seen a comedian - Dennis, I'm looking at you babe - who's funny once he starts pushing a political agenda. (Dennis is still funnier than Al, and certainly Jeneane, but he always was).
I think Douglas' description of Franken is perfect.
stubby
Watching TV is the perfect time to smoke pot.
