SotU Pre-Party Fodder
The State of the Union is a little like the Superbowl for political geeks, all the more so in the Geek Kingdom of DC. And as with the Superbowl, there's nothing quite as tiresome as watching the talking heads deconstruct the event before it starts. So as you're bringing out the chips and quaffing a cold one, why not get your geek on with C-Span's archive of past State of the Union addresses?

At the risk of seeming like a nit-picker, PLEASE note that there is no such thing as the "Superbowl." It is two words. Super Bowl. Like Orange Bowl. Or Sugar Bowl. Or Rose Bowl. See the pattern? 🙂 Check the NFL web site if you don't believe me. I don't normally correct such things, because heaven knows I make PLENTY of my own mistakes, but this particular error is getting entirely too common. It's sort of like the epidemic of people thinking that "alot" is one word. It's driving me nuts. 🙂
Imagine. A libertarian being concerned with a picky detail. When has THAT ever happened before? 🙂
A complete archive of States of the Union, going all the way back to Harry Truman. Zowie. Meanwhile, a pulp ebook site run by a 10th grade high school dropout has states of the union going back to George Washington.
C-SPAN's run by a bunch of pussies.
Actually our Superbowl is the presidential election 😉
