I can't help but feel disgraced and dirty after finding myself in general agreement with editorial commentary from MoJo.
The Atlantic had a decent article about security measures over a year ago. Read it if for nothing other than the silly characterizations of "libertarians".

Yeah, the nerve of those bastards, trying to keep track of who is coming into this country.
As for its utter ineffectiveness - on day 1 it caught an experienced con man who is wanted for a series of big time fraud crimes around the country, who has used a variety of aliases. The still don't know his real name, since he's given a false one each time he was arrested. Suffice to say, he was returned from whence he came.
