Poor Map-Reading Skills
For the second time in two months, the city of Rochester, N.Y, has accidentally demolished a building. A city crew was supposed to tear down a vacant carriage house believed to be at 855 Clifford Ave. Instead, it tore down a five-car garage at 865 Clifford Ave. "We just misidentified which building it was," said a city official. "If you go out there and you see the site plan, you can see how this would happen." But the city earlier tore down a multi-unit apartment building that a neighborhood group wanted to renovate. The city says that demolition wasn't an accident.
