"Think Piece" Warning
If you're feeling anxious about the possibility that Kill Bill will turn out to suck, this philosophical exegesis of Pulp Fiction may put you back in Quentinalian mood.

Wow - both great links. I had seen the MetaPhilm a long time ago, but forgot about it. Good reminder, and pretty accurate, IMO. I'm rooting for QT when KB is released...it will be only the second movie this year that I will gladly pay $$ to watch in a theatre (X-2 being the other one).
Thanks.
I guess I just didn't get "Pulp Fiction." I've seen a few other Tarentino films that I liked, however. "Four Rooms" was brilliant. "Desperado" was a bit cornball, but it was good. There have been a few others as well.
Not that I'd blatently disagree on the assessment of Pulp, but come on - how about watching a movie just to enjoy it?
It reminds me of high school english where you had to try to infer all the supposed meanings built into poetry, when i'd just most often think that the words used were the words that sounded and felt right.
Interestingly, the author misses the obvious consequence of Vincent's refusal to recognize the near-miss "miracle" and quit Marcellus's crew: Vincent is shot down by Butch. That is his reward for a positive affirmation of nihilism.
How about you, Peggy Sue?
"Deperado" is more a Robert Rodriguez thing than a Tarantino thing. I've liked all of QT's stuff so far, with "Pulp Fiction" being the most fun and Resevior Dogs being the most gritty. Yeah, I'll see "Kill Bill."
And Marsellus, the despot whose power comes from nowhere except itself, is only saved from another despot when Butch goes downstairs with the sword.
Mia's got nothing to give to Vince except the stupid joke from the pilot.
I'm just waiting for the sequel: "Jules Walks the Earth."
Perry,
That reminds me of Back to School where Rodney gets Kurt Vonnegut to write his paper on some Vonnegut work and his English professor tells him that whoever he got to write his paper didn't know the first thing about Kurt Vonnegut.
All that and he neglects to mention that Butch rides off on a motorcycle named Grace. Convenient for him not to have noticed that.
Do you want that shake Martin & Lewis or Amos & Andy?
