"There is nothing more temporary than a permanent tax moratorium", a wiser man than me once said.

I just can't figure out how members of congress will make themselves exempt from this law. Will they have to pay internet taxes?

I'm sure we'll hear something along the lines of "We have to tax the internet in order to save it."

Just a minor point of clarification: the House did NOT vote to bar ALL net taxes... only on the Internet connections. Your ISP or AOL account would be the only thing that local and state governments could not tax, leaving them free and clear to fleece the great unwashed when they make online purchases.

"I don't need to remind my colleagues of the fiscal crisis that our states are currently finding ourselves in, including the state of Texas," Green said.

And I don't need to remind them that the fiscal crisis was caused by them spending taxpayer's money like drunken rednecks with a credit card.

    Or do I?

Actually, P.R., I believe most irresponsible rednecks prefer crystal meth nowadays...
