Radio Free Salam
Word has it that Iraqi blogger Salam Pax will be on NPR's Fresh Air tomorrow tonight. You can listen on the website or your local NPR station. (Via Wiretapestry.)

He was actually on today, I think, though maybe that's just for us Philly types who are always first in line for the Terry Gross love.
Nope; my goof. But in a lot of areas it's on at 7 as well.
I just caught the last 10 minutes of the fresh air interview. It sounded to me like the NPR host was doing her best to get Salam to be critical of the Bush administration's handling of the Iraqi affair. She didn't succeed though. The best she could get was Salam saying it would have been better to have more patience so as for the war to have had more support so as to not have the appearance of imperialism. I don't know why she didn't follow that question up with one on how he felt about the countries that did not offer that support...oh, wait, I do know.
Speaking of NPR:
Did anyone catch the NPR Madeleine Albright puff-piece passing as journalism earlier this week? What a joke. Apparently there are no hard-hitting questions to put to Madam Secretary - she did such a bang up job.
I've heard what is, in my opinion, some really good international coverage on NPR, but as the election season approaches NPR seems to slant more and more to the left. They need to work on making it not so obvious. (admittedly, I look for bias in all news, but still...)
Thank zeus for lowly "commercial radio".
"...as the election season approaches NPR seems to slant more and more to the left."
Joe, say it ain't so! Say it ain't so!
Joe, maybe as election season approaches, you slant more and more to the right. 🙂
Not me. no caps.
